Jimmy Kebe is going to win us the play-offs

by The Goat was fed » 12 May 2011 10:36

J-Lloyd Samuel is a piss-head and I can't think of anything worse than facing Jimmy Kebe on a hangover.

Will you cry this time if you don't get promotion?

He was having a fitness test before the game on Saturday. Seemed to be running fairly well.

I reckon he'll be ready. However, I predict he will be targeted by some Cardiff thug!

McD is making gloomy noises about his fitness on OS.

Also if you are on OS have a look in academy news and see the two cracking goals from our lads in goal of the season/ month or whatever it is. Good prospects there

To be fair, he didn't cry last time we didn't get promotion.

Nah - it was just the relegation that got me last time, that and 6 pints of Stella. I'd had a bloody awful year personally that year, the relegation just seemed to top it off and seeing a couple of other lads, including one quite old geezer, set me off. Maybe one day I'll live it down...

Seen this on the OS

Does not take much reading between the lines to say Kebe will not play tomorrow and is probably doubtful for Tuesday as well.
Looks like we are stuffed

I'd be proud if winning or losing a big one made me cry. Shows you care.

Or it could just be mind games with Cardiff.

He didn't look too far from fitness on Saturday when he was being put through his paces on the pitch before the match.......

I think you could be right. (Hope so anyway!) - why would we let Cardiff know too soon that Kebe was playing - they'll want to put 2 guys on him most probably - if they don't find out until the team sheet, and think he's not playing prior to that, they won't have much time to re-jig their team and talk tactics.

Come on Jimmy - your club needs you!

I think under John Madejski's ownership it's actually better we don't go up. If we do then it only means 3-4 more years of restablising the club when we come back down. As we're almost back to a stable footing, I'm quite happy staying right here until someone wants to invest in the football club and take us forward.

I really do not understand why anyone would not want us to go up or assume that without Kebe we are stuffed

would like to add that a few times this season Kebe has played with a knock and he seems to really hold back

I can see a confident win with Jimmy in - out and this could be a worry for where the crosses are coming from. Will MacNuff be up for it and firing???

I'm quietly confident he's fit and BMcD is being clever. Teams have lined up this season looking to stop Jimmy and if they don't they get ravaged. BBC Berks said he was doing a fitness test on the pitch before Derby and "he didn't look injured" - hardly scientific but a little indication that mind games might be afoot.

Muddyfeet - Nobody has said that without Kebe we're stuffed, we've just got a significantly better chance with him in the team as he is a God. I'll never understand why people wouldn't want us to get promoted. As much as we can convince ourselves otherwise, it's amazing in the Premier League. Yes it's pricey (insert all other usual complaints) but ultimately, you want to see your team playing the best sides in the country - that's what it's all about.

Don't forget how close we were to European football in that first season with almost exactly the same team that won the Championship. I will die happy (in a Reading fan perspective) if I see just one competitive game of European football with Reading involved.

Several times this season we've had the "is he or isn't he" question about various key players. Certainly seem to be more mind games going on than last season anyway.

It might be the hope clouding my judgement - but I'm willing to wager a tenner that he will start.
