The power of music

by URZZ » 04 Jun 2011 20:24

Just watching TV and Que Sera was being played among the advertisements. Really does dog you off when you hear a song that brings back the memories.

What songs bring back memories of Reading for you? For good or bad that is. I always find myself singing 'Jobi McAnuff' to 'Give it Up' and get some strange looks.

Blur - Song 2 also comes into mind. Anyone remember when this was played upon scoring in the (quote me) 2000/01 season?

Aware this won't go down as thread of the year, and I'll embrace the narky comments but it is a genuine post. I find myself listening to the radio, and a certain song will be played and it can remind me of a specific game.

Funnily enough I was thinking of similar the other day! I remember sitting in the North Stand at Elm Park, might've been against Rochester or Rochdale, sipping a Bovril, Radio Ga Ga playing on the PA.

I heard Radio Ga Ga on the radio last week and instantly was back at Elm Park with the taste of Bovril on my tongue! Bizarre huh?

Rozzella(or what ever she was called) everybodys free..played lots over the tannoy in that era

Reminds me of the early 90s when i was a steward and could watch reading for free(genrally at the back of the southbank)that was in the days when they let anybody be a steward,u just had to turn up.You got a fiver,a programme and a cup of tea at half time

Anyone else on ere ever done stewarding at elm park? even though we didnt do much of the actual stewarding in them days. Was just watching football for free in an orange bid or whatever colour it was....great days

Just watched this and brought a lump to my throat.

For one whole season we were the very best there's ever been at our level - the equaliser at Palace and Bobby's run against Millwall just make you shiver !! 8)

I don't care what happens - I love this club.........where's the passion emoticon
