Anyone else seen it?

Basically a plea for a Premiership Club to come and buy him.

I had issues with the Mills sale because we have no one lined up to replace him nor is any of the money from the sale going to go to that end...

On the other hand with Feds we have 2 young talented keepers in the wings so I hope someone acts on his pleas. Nothing against him personally, or professionally, but moving him would make sense for the club.

Agreed - would be a good move for him and a good move for Reading.

Yeah and tbf I think it would be a good move for Feds too. Again, nothing against him, he has done a decent enough job. But if none of the money from the Mills sale will be used to find a suitable replacement for him we could do that with the 1-2 mil we could probably get for Feds.

Good idea but not sure what club would want him as no.1
After spending a lot of time on the bench during Marcus' time here I would have thought that he wouldn't want to do that all over again.

i hope someone comes in for him, i really do. mccarthy is the better keeper and will continue to improve the more he plays. andersen also looks a real prospect, so selling federici would make sense for both parties, even to another championship side.

Said it before and will say it again. Selling Federici would be a massive mistake. He is our number 1 keeper for a reason. Ie best we have got!

Prefer McCarthy to go if I am honest.

McCarthy will easily be as good as Federici by the time he's had the same first team experience at this level, and is the same age. Federici is good, McCarthy is good. McCarthy is home grown and has the potential to be a lot better.

I'd be really really peeved if we sold him.

Who on earth advised Federici to do that interview ? Surely in this day and age the player's Agent can make it known to other Clubs that the player would welcome interest from them and proceed from there. Assuming the Agent has done that it can only antagonise Reading supporters for Feds to pimp himself on such a public stage.

Seems to be a crime to have ambitions and dreams theses days ! Was only being honest and will always give my all for readingfc ....

Was it as blatant as what the pikey hobbit came out with? I doubt it very much. No doubt the club were aware that he was going onto SSN or wherever and he would have been briefed beforehand. Is he a good keeper? Yes. Of course he is. But so is McCarthy.

Would be quite happy to see the club cash in on Federici. He's improved quite a bit but, like Mills, isn't as good as he thinks he is.

McCarthy is pretty much on a par with him already and should improve with more opportunity. My biggest worry would be that we sell Federici, McCarthy impresses and we then have to replace him when big offers come in for him next summer.

I don't think we'll be able to keep all the keeper happy and something has to give. I half expect Andersen to leave this summer as well, irrespective of the Federici/McCarthy situation. I couldn't blame him either really.

As for Federici's interview. The guys an idiot and obviously wants to go. I don't think he should be promoting himself out in the public domain though as it's disrespectful to the club and fans who've given him the chance to get where he is. Do it behind closed doors as everyone else certainly does but don't go running your mouth off in public to stir up a bit of interest etc.

the sooner our fans come to terms with the FACT that there is not a single player in the universe who would limit their ambition to RFC, the better

even players who are reading fans.

fair play to fed. and i wish the twittermongs would shut up

Do you really think the club would be encouraging public stunts like this off the back of selling Mills to a Championship rival?

Do you think the Premier League clubs who might be interested in Federici are stitting at home watching SSN whilst racking their brains for a potential keeper?

Clubs pay agents a lot of money to do this kind of stuff behind the scenes (RFC don't seem to though, perhaps why we've failed to get rid of the Bennets, Davies, Mooneys of this world in the past) and I can't imagine Federici's representatives are meekly sat at home waiting for Hammond to say they've had a call from Fulham again.
