I can't wait to hear if it was as god awful pathetic to watch in person as the reports we got seem to indicate. I have a feeling I know that answer already...

Can I be the first just to get it out the way and save others the trouble?

Definitely not the worst game we'll see this year. Comical in parts through missing two pens in 5 minutes. Comical defending too. More worried at the back than I am up front at the moment. We played well at times in the second half but some players just didn't turn up (Harte's worst game for Reading, Legs looked off pace, Khumalo was all over the shop) but very promising from some players (Kebe great 2nd half and HRK looked v good up front).

We'll be fine though. Get over it. Or maybe I'm just being an RTG.

I didn't go today, but I'm not looking forward to Schards' return, if his texts were anything to go by  I believe he even used the word "shambles" at one point.

Well, that was pretty dreadful.

Added to that I took my seat for the first game at home with my season ticket ( I chose the west stand lower for a change this season ) and found myself next to a Jeremy Kyle wannabe family who non stop ate and went to the khazi throughout the game. The women spent the half swearing, not bothered too much about that, but she had a 2 year old in her arms.

The woman's voice is grating on me already, it's only the 2nd home game.

Lol at the where's the facking money....predicted on HNA...

No organization on the middle today, Legs had his worse game I've seen, he must have an injury or ilness because he was at walking pace at best.

Not sure about Bongo still, left his man for the first, only a Worldy by Feds stopped it being 1-3 at the end.

Small away following but fair play, their first win. :o

southstand67 well we made chances, but the defending was woeful....

^^^ Agreed. Not as fussed by the attack. On another day that would have been a hatful. 2 missed pens, some good keeping & a few sitters

But that defence was dreadful

However...... Bryn was imperious in support of Kebe

Harte sounded like he had another poor game, what was your impression of him?

Didn't think he played too badly - missed a pen though.

Defence was all over the shop, another poor game from Harte off the pace and poor balls in. Bryn, great player, but his time is over, Jem was better in that position. Great comical moment at end when mansets? shot hit Church onthe back of his head.

We needs to spend some of longs money, pref on defence as we are looking way too leaky

I am thinking Pearce clearing Harte's attempt off of the Barnsley line had to sum up the futility of today's game...

To me the defence is the key problem.

I won't be that fussed it we don't get another striker, but we need a confident (and fast!) back line.

Oh, and a keeper who will command his area!!

Pretty crap tbf. Got caught badly out of position a fair few times. And so many of his free-kicks and corners have turned to crap so far this season, so he hasn't got that as a back-up

True, Barnsley's keeper came out for everything.

I don't know what to say, really. Three minutes to the biggest battle of our professional lives. All comes down to today, and either, we heal as a team, or we're gonna crumble. Inch by inch, play by play. Until we're finished. We're in hell right now, gentlemen. Believe me. And, we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time. Now I can't do it for ya, I'm too old. I look around, I see these young faces and I think, I mean, I've made every wrong choice a middle-aged man can make. I, uh, I've pissed away all my money, believe it or not. I chased off anyone who's ever loved me. And lately, I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror. You know, when you get old, in life, things get taken from you. I mean, that's... that's... that's a part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losin' stuff. You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break of the game, every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that's gonna make the oxf*rd difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! I'll tell you this, in any fight it's the guy whose willing to die whose gonna win that inch. And I know, if I'm gonna have any life anymore it's because I'm still willing to fight and die for that inch, because that's what living is, the six inches in front of your face. Now I can't make you do it. You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think ya going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. Your gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it your gonna do the same for him. That's a team, gentlemen, and either, we heal, now, as a team, or we will die as individuals. That's football guys, that's all it is. Now, what are you gonna do?

The best i can say is a quote.
