Reading 2-1 up away to Middlesbrough. 7 pm scheduled kick-off so must be nearly over (post written at 8.45 - just to be clear).

In the spirit of Floyd:

Dom-in-ic Samuel
He's worth five million.

(Dominic Samuel scored both goals).

It's 8.54, so that must be something like 8.21 hobnob mean time.

Great win. Middlesbrough have a good youth set up and were apparently 1-0 up at half time before Samuels netted a brace in the second half. The Middlesbrough youth Twitter feed was very impressed with him even before he scored.

Hoping for a home draw in the next round on a day when I can get there to see it.

Great win. It said in the report that Paul Black was there. That bloke is a total legend all that way to watch a youth game. The club should give him a free season ticket for life.

Dominic Samuel is a v.good prospect. There's been a lot of in house hype about him this season. Coming along very well.

It seems Uche Ikpeazu (who apparently set up the winner) and Samuel are two big lads with a bit of promise coming through.

Fingers crosses for the lot of them.

Interesting to see that Obita and Santangelo also played as they (and Ikpeazu I guess) have been involved in Senior football recently. Shows how seriously the club were taking it and also, perhaps, how those spells with the men's sides help their competitive development.

Just had a look and of 30 ties played in R3 so far not one draw, is there golden goal or something?

Good win, Middlesbrough usually have a great youth academy.

How's Paul doing by the way, last I heard - a few years ago now - he had managed to attend every first team game since about 1974 - can he still boast that?

Would also agree that the club should give him a life season ticket...

By the way, when's the draw for the next round?

There is no golden goal but there is extra time which seems to have been enough to have settled every single tie.

This Samual character seems to always be in the Reading news. Anyone know what type player he is and anything about him??

Under the new youth player rules we should get around £150k for him.
