Possibly the final straw? With the arrival of Sheppard, Manset's general inability to get fit, and this which may be symptomatic of a poor attitude, I'm not that sure we'll see him a load more times...

I'm still hopeful he will come good but this could be a reason to ship him out now.

maybe he might have to cycle to training now, which should be a good way to lose a few pounds and gain some fitness!

Uhmm not a difficult one for me this, the club took a punt on Manset, but a year down the line his fitness is still poor and in all honesty not very impressive, could not see him doing a full 90 mins at championship level, drink-driving is far from acceptable from a full time player, time to ship out, thanks but no more thanks.

I thought they signed him for the LOL's a sort of mascot type figure.

Fair play to him, he's doing all he can to emulate Reading's finest striker. Keep it up, I say.

During the 70's and 80's, it wasn't uncommon in South American football to have a player in the team who was more like a friendly, fun guy who can make jokes, organise a BBQ, bring women to parties, that sort of thing. Coaches would let this person become part of the day-to-day of the club. He doesn't really play very well but is tolerated as a kind of ‘vibes master’. The way I see it Manset was fulfilling this role.

I think this might signal the end of the Beasts' career at RFC. It's a shame that he's never met his potential. He is very skillful with the ball at his feet and has a fearsome shot. I think he has always tried a little too hard as his time on the pitch has been so limited. I don't think we've ever got the best out of him.....

Shame, I always liked Beast. Always thought he looked impressive when he came on as an impact sub.

Goodbye manset, MCD doesn't really rate him and he won't be seen as a Reading type player. You have to be an idiot to even have a drop of alcohol when driving!!

Why doesn't he rate him? :| He was the one who signed him only 12 months ago.

Did Porterfield get the sack for drink-driving?

I'm not sure it is a sacking offense though. I haven't been that impressed with Manset, but he certainly has enough about him to be an impact sub here for the rest of the season. No need to get rid of him yet! If a league one team makes him/Reading a good offer, don't stand in his way, but until then we should keep him.
