We need Brendy to do his prediction again. He nearly called it last year.

Lots of reasons why it might.

If they continue their VG run, Reading might need to win or draw there to get second.

Reading might be out of it but Birmingham might need to win or draw to get up to second from third
or stay in second.

Or Birmingham may need to win to avoid dropping to second from top spot.

I'd say, right now there's a good 50% chance it might be a huge game

Think Birmingham will be home and dry by the personally, but if Kebe hits form then there's a good chance we'll be challenging for second.

I'll be at this one no matter how important the match is. The hotel is already booked for a weekend stay in Birmingham.

B'ham will already be promoted by then. We'll need a win to make the play-offs

As long as it doesn't end up like the last game of the season there in 1990 i'll be happy.

So you think we are going to have a big fall-off on current form?

We haven't become a top side over night, don't get so carried away. The best we can hope for is the play-offs. We're still a bit too inconsistent imo. Certainly enough so to rule us out of a top two placing. I'll be delighted with those 'orrible play-offs though.

But current form is just that, it's current, not permanent.

I oxf*rd hope so!

Also, I'm not sure whether it will decide 2nd place, but I think it will be a big game for one of the teams.

Agreed, but our form over 6/7/8/9/10/11/12/13/14 and 22 games
suggests we will finish on 78 points or higher, well inside the POs
and that is (apart from the last game) WITHOUT the new players.

We're still a bit too inconsistent imo.

Don't agree. The home defeat to Cardiff was a little harsh, and they are
usually good on their patch (we can't win or be brilliant every game)

The defeat at Blackpool was unlucky, with a perfectly good goal
disallowed when it was 1-0, and the home game v Hull should have been 0-0

Our form has "waned" and we got a bit jaded, uninspiring,
but 8 wins in 11 24 points from 11 = 2.25 ppg
or, 9 wins in 13 27 = 2.1 ppg is hardly inconsistent.

So we ought to expect 79 points or higher. Thinking we are going to be
needing to win last game to make the POs, means we have to drop in
quality and form by quite a big amount, after we brought in extra quality.

Not saying we'll be champions or second but to not make the POs
now would be actual failure to meet reasonable expectations IMO

Very possibly both teams. It isn't impossible (but improbable) that we could go there
needing to draw to get second, and Birmingham needing to draw to be Champs...

Having said all this, Birmingham have recently had a fabulous run.
Usually these runs stutter (like we won 8 on the trot, drew, then got a bit iffy

I'm sure it will go to the wire, at least for the second and sixth spots.

The 6-pointers are going to be massive.

But Snowball, form isn't permanent. I don't care what it suggests or where we will end up if it continues all season, the fact of the matter is form is temporary, unlike your bloody stats, and we will hit a bad patch sooner or later. Will you then re-evaluate your stats on that form? No, course you wont, because then we're only headed towards 5/6th place...

1 We have already HAD a bad patch (6 in 6) IN this 22-Game run.

2 I've said repeatedly (just like I did last season) that I'm sticking to the same "run"

3 I will be STAGGERED if our form from games 7-46 ends up below 1.75 ppg.

4 I'm on record as saying I believe 6-game form is far-too short to judge by. 9 is the minimum I'm comfortable with.

Roughly, IF our form over NINE games has dropped us out of contention, we will be dead unless we win the next 9
