Millwall memories

Always a good trip this one. Beers at London Bridge, decent view from away end and always a reasonably good atmosphere. If you're considering making a first ever visit, don't be a wet lettuce and let their reputation put you off.....not least because there is a purpose-built walkway from South Bermondsey right up to the away end.

Memories from my visits:

- Mass Sarr scoring a header
- Having to ask a steward to unlock the gate to let me out as we trailed 5-0 with 20 minutes left.
- Darius Henderson scoring an absolute pearler.....for Reading.
- Graeme Stack playing an absolute blinder.....for Millwall.
- Reading giving it not so much the big'un as the reasonably-large'un, singing FEED THE MILLWALL, LET THEM KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME walking back to South Bermondsey station after a comfortable win in the Champ season.

Never went to the Old Den - too young - but always enjoy this particular venue.

Taking my daughter and the young billy big bollox away support goading. Stones being thrown and my daughter asking why the stones were being thrown. Then being left to their own devices on the train back to London Bridge. Fairly quiet on the train.

Being told to fcuk off back home by a passing skip lorry driver as he went past. This when I lived in Eltham.

Being slapped in the ribs after I'd broken one.

Crashing the beer down on the train and spilling some on a commmutor.

Good post, whenever I mention I'm off to Millwall away people always look at me like I'm mad or something, mainly I suppose as they support other London clubs. Having been a few times I consider it one of the better away days and a good craic. London Bridge is a good place to drink and hangout pre-match too.

Standing on the tube as a load of Millwall fans beat the crap out've a hammers fan on the platform before scattering when more turned up
A thoroughly shit 0-0 draw
Getting lost on the underground and walking nervously to the ground in the midst of the home fans before legging it to the away section

Getting attacked by a Millwall fan using his metal crutch as a weapon.
Didn't so much run away as step sideays and he couldn't catch us.





And all in the 'family' stand.

Famous for one thing. Crazy legs Savage on the touch line where he managed to fall over the ball, get up, and beat the two Milwall players surrounding him. A legend was born

Leaving with 20 to go in that 5-0 game and meeting Lou Macari on the way to the train and telling him we should be better as John Gorman's the ex England coach. He said 'Aye but ye've got the likes of Stuart Grat in ya team and he'll never be a footballer''

Was anyone at the game in the 80s where the home fans took over the PA announcers room, locked themselves in and proceeded to commentate on the game?

Sitting on the top deck of the bus on Oxford road on the way to Elm Park, just me and about 40 Millwall fans.

When asked where the ground was, I replied 'don't know I'm not from round here'.
