Under the Radar

by The Prisoner » 10 Mar 2012 18:46

Just looking through the Saints and WHU forums and a majority of fans still think we don't have a chance of finishing in the top 2. I for one am loving this and look forward to ramming it down their "big club" throats should tinpot Reading dare to penetrate Planet Smug.

Yeah, sure, there are the "oh, but we should be wary of them" posts too, but the the consensus is that we have 7/11 away from home, still have to face the might of WHU and Southampton away (both of whom looked pretty average to me at the Mad Stad), and have to go to Birmingham. We are clearly bound to implode. We can't keep winning. WHU and Southampton have better players. They have more history. How dare we.

We may well fall flat on our faces and do our usual play-off implosion, but we are a TEAM and I'd rather have BMcD than Fat Sam or Smug Nige any day of the week.

We are under the radar and are being written off by so many. I'm loving it.

How very very strange. I was literally about to start a thread called.....under the radar!

Completely agree 100%. Listening to 606 & there's a WHU fan stating how not only they should be walking this league but they should be doing it playing attractive football. WHY do they have a divine right to win it? It's the billy big bollox attitude that just irritates the hell out of me. Even on Sky they only mentioned West Ham dropping points & Saints winning yet we didn't even get mentioned.

Long may it continue....fcuk em.

Perhaps if home fans didn't boo their team every week they might actually win at home. Just a thought.

Someone on KUMB posted his predictions for the 3 teams. Unsurprisingly he has West Ham 1st. Also has West Ham down for 3 points against us & 3 points against Boro. They can't even fcuking beat mid-table nothing to play for at all Watford at home & we dicked them over good & proper at our place.

Delusions of grandeur much??

Boy can I not wait for that trip to Upton & see the little chavs booing & crying at 5pm.

Knowing them they'll be booing and crying at 3:15 if they aren't a couple of goals up.

Yep more than likely. 0-0 at HT against a team that might well be above them in the league by then & the boos will be crying out. Get a grip you idiots.

"we're coming for you, we're coming for yooooooooooou,
west ham - southampton, we're coming for you."

we can go second on tuesday night. i couldn't give a toss what west ham or saints fans are saying. they are both due a wobble. we've been here, we're prepared for the pressure, but saints and west ham will feel the heat more so than ourselves imo and that is a benefit to ourselves. bring it on!

I'm friends with a West Ham fan and a Southampton fan, obviously we all want to see our teams finish top but once we got that out of the way and gave sensible predictions the opinions were as follows:

Saints Fan
Wants 1. Southampton, 2. Reading, Playoffs: Watford
Predicts 1. West Ham or Reading, 2. Southampton, 3. West Ham or Reading

West Ham Fan
Wants 1. West Ham, 2. Reading, Playoffs: Watford
Predicts 1. Reading, 2. West Ham, 3. Southampton

Me - Reading Fan (in case you hadn't guessed!)
Wants 1. Reading 2. Southampton, Playoffs: Watford
Predicts 1. West Ham, 2. Reading, Playoffs: Southampton (However, with every game that passes I'm edging closer to predicting a Reading title.

The interesting thing here is that none of us believe our sides are strong enough to win the league. Also, we're hoping our teams win the league with the weakest realistic contenders also gaining promotion to hopefully help us stay up.

I look at Reading, Southampton and West Ham and none of them are anywhere near as good as the Reading 106 side, but maybe they don't need to be.

You know Watford are like...a mile away from the play offs right?! I've heard of a wish list, but that is ridiculous

out of those in and around the play-offs, it's only a preference. i wouldn't want to see brighton and poyet go up, same for cardiff, birmingham, boro, blackpool or hull. i'd like to see watford or palace if they could put a run together.

watford are only 10 points away... haha

It's not new, we never got any credit the 106 season! Big Sam did give us a mention in his post match interview today make no mistake they are bricking it.

Everyone keeps saying that we've got a bad run-in but theirs is about the same if not worse

Leeds
Boro
Reading
Birmingham
Brighton
Leicester
Hull

and the easier ones - all away: Burnley, Posh, Barnsley, Bristol.

Interesting that Southampton have scored 2 more and conceded the same.

i find it hilarious that west ham fans think they are a "big club". Leeds utd are a big club!! Obviously we won't win every game and people think we have peaked too early, (bollock$)

We are top bar the first 6 games when were rebuilding!

I can see west sham falling and Southampton losing to us!
