Back from the Game- Blackpool

by St Pauli » 24 Mar 2012 16:53

Great work by number 13 in Y26/25 today.

Hope the old man who fell down the stairs is allright.

Anyone know why there was a fight between a load of fans in Y26 at the end?

Oh yeah and there was a football game too which someone won.

Not the greatest of spectacles at times but we did what we needed to do. Game plan worked well.

Special mention to Legs who had his best game in a while IMO.

Cummings played very well in the second half and Jem was solid as always.

Bit disappointed by the new arrival and if I were Church or Fondu I'd be a bit pi*sed off.

We have done well to come through this month. Don't think you can underestimate how tough it has been with all those games. Let's round it off with a win at West Ham. I think we can do it... just!

Jem was outstanding, I actually think 10/10 wouldn't be unfair at all for his rating. He made some outstanding long passes, and stopped a certain goal in the 1st half, not just winning the ball as one of the last men, but using his strength to get between the man and the ball, then calmly pass the ball out of our own area.

Bloke who sits near us ran after a younger guy & punched him. Not exactly sure as to why!

I have not seen a harder working team than us in the Championship this season. The continuous hunting of the ball was great to behold, especially when we were 3-1 up. The crowd appreciated it and so did Brian. A great win.

Oh, and Brian should play Lawro's comments in the dressing room before the remaining games to get everyone going. What a vacuous, ill-informed uttercunt.

As evidenced by the round of applause Brian gave Noel when he chased the keeper down late in the 2nd half and came very close.

was great to be able to watch a saturday 3pm kick off live on the tele for only the 2nd time this season! maybe us v west ham will be the game of the dya next week too, here is hoping!

as for todays game, blckpool are probably one of the better teams in the league and we have beaten them well

Hunt should have done better with the chance in the first minute

Phillips shold have done better with the chance in the last minute of the first half. he scores that its very very different

legs had his best game for a while, rounding it off with a goal, and the last two saturdays have shwon what can happen when you midfield gets up in support of the front two! nobidy followed him so he had a free header

yet again 3 different goalscorers, this time none of our strikers. we have goals all over the pitch!

Fantastic result and yet another game where we get goals from all over the team. We were hard working, organised and always looked in control.

MOTM was Jobi, he worked his socks off and scored one and set one up, at least that's what I thought till I saw the replay and saw his shot hit both posts before the Harte tap in. Hunt was immense, he was still closing players down in the last 5 minutes, compared to the lazy arse Church who strolled around and did nothing of note except falling over when played through. What has ALF done not to get ahead of Church?

Afobe worked hard, linked play and kept it simple. I was waiting for some sort of indication that he is a massive up and coming talent, but he just had a solid game without any particular highlight.

Cummings had a good game, looked solid and showed some good skill going forward. I'd rather have him playing than Mullins or Connelly.

I was pretty underwhelmed with Blackpool. Their goal was a cracker, but apart from the miss from Phillips that was pretty well all they produced.

Overall a very good three points, but I wish the stadium announcer would oxf*rd and refrain for statements like "getting Reading back to where they should be in the premiership" or "another three points", there is no better way to motivate the opposition than have some numpty coming out with statements like that.

I thought he did ok - considering he has only been involved for 1 or 2 days worth of training.......he's come from a team who play the possession game, to a team who play kick and rush, its obviously gonna take time BUT he held the ball well and it frigging quick.

I was actually very impressed with Afobe considering it's his first competitive game in 10 months, he's 19, and he's only had one day's worth of training with his new team mates. He showed more than enough to suggest he can play a big part in the run-in.

Anyway, thought Jem was absolutely superb today.
