Sea of Scarves

by Barry the bird boggler » 02 Apr 2012 11:49

Just seen this on the OS. STAR are looking for fans to create a "sea of scarves" for the Leeds game on Friday. Think perhaps I might tie a load of blue and white socks together and kill two birds with one stone.

It seems more about the generating a family atmosphere and looking good on the tele.

We aren't doing too badly at home without the scarves.

What a great way to get a load of scarf sales in before the TSI deal collapses so we can continue as a prudent club

For sitting on the sofa wearing what I normally wear.

This is why STAR should be disbanded. Just let the club give funds to Col Bish so he can carry on doing the coaches, great work there. Other than that they are a waste of space.

I'd rather the scarves than that oxf*rd awful filthy banner we had for blackpool.

At least the socks idea was original, relevent, and to Feds at least, amusing. Seemed to rile the oppo fans too as a bonus.

Plenty of the team have said that a good crowd behind the team helps....

Scarves have been done before, since football has been played in club colours on winter days....socks haven't. Had beards? Does anyone else sing about Bill Oddie?

Originality clearly has no further part in the Reading fandom. No one dare risk another Nuts Award for originality (with a ripped-off chant) for fear of being labelled "gay" on the Internet.

This sort of stuff happens spontaneously week in week out at clubs overseas, and although it was quite fun taking the pi55 out of leicester for doing it at ours the other week, i've always liked it personally...
