Did Reading win or did West Brom lose???

by mikey0406 » 13 Jan 2013 14:27

I know we managed to get the three points yesterday but the performance still worried me incredibly for our survival hopes and most of the mistakes made was simple incidences that must be worked on the training ground. For 81 mins of the game our crossing was woeful, wit most set pieces not beating the first man and our quality from wide areas was very poor. Kebe's decision making was dreadful yesterday, opting to cross rather than taking on the full backs. we came up against a similar formation yesterday with Lukaku playing as the out and out striker, yet he was fist to every ball, far superior in the air and in the first half when we was playing a 4-5-1, we should not be letting a lone striker see so much of the ball. I love the fact the never say die attitude at the end and clearly changing to a 4-4-2 helped, i think this performance will highlight the real 'donkey' work and the 'back to basis' work that needs to be put on the training field, and i think the need for one more 'quality' striker that can put a 90 min shift in with energy and enthusiasm. I just hope the 9 mins of quality, pressured play does not over shaddow the 81 mins prior...West Brom must of left yesterday though pig sick that they did not gt anything out of that game..

I don't think a lack of donkeys on the training field has been our problem.

WBA defnitely lost that.

However, at 1-0 down I thought it was harsh as the game had been even up to that point. We'd had a fair amount of corners / set pieces but didn't do enough with him or had no one in the box to convert them.

WBA did turn the screw in the 2nd half though & their 2nd goal was coming. Football is a funny game sometimes but we are due a bit of bloody luck!

If West Brom had gifted the 3 goals then I would say they 'lost' it.

On the grounds that, notwithstanding the stupid challenge for the penalty, the goals were created and West Brom didn't miss a string of sitters (indeed, were somewhat unlucky with a few), Reading won it.

WBA threw it away. They tired, took their foot off the pedal, thought they'd done enough, and we upped it a gear and started finding the space we couldn't in the previous 80 minutes. They only have themselves to blame though.

Go back to when we lost to arsenal in the legue cup.
How we felt back then was how they must of felt yesterday but sicker as they only had 9 mins to hold on.
We won and we were very lucky but they def threw it away

It'd been a low-paced coast for WBA for 82 minutes.

When our first went in, they just couldn't change to cope with the change in tempo of the match. Mentally they were just seeing out time, not really playing

Agree. We won, how many times have we been beaten after 80 minutes this season?

What a stupid post, the final score is all that matters. We scored 3 and WBA scored 2 , it's not rocket science

its not a stupid post at all...the three points will count for nothing at the end of th season if we do not correct what went on in the first 81 mins

It aint over til it's over.
We did to WBA what many teams have done to us this year, about time too!

Even more stupid LOL points count for everything come the end of the season. And I for one don't care how we get them, just as long as we do( although I'd prefer to be watching some better football)
The team with more goals always win

Reading won, Wet Bro lost. Both statements are factually correct.

no if we do not get enough wins royal you muppet... the reasons we are in the relegation zone is because of wht went on in the 81 mins and in most games this season
