Wigan Prediction Thread

by SPARTA » 19 Feb 2013 17:25

We've been here before... We had games coming up like Bolton and Fulham, they were winnable, they would have kept us up.. we lost them and we went down.

We were a lot better against Sunderland, creating more chances in that game than I can remember pre the final 15 minutes of the previous handful of games, but I have a nagging feeling we'll throw it away on Saturday and come up against a very well organised Wigan side who have already proved they can hurt us (down the left mainly).

Head says: Reading 0 - 2 Wigan
Heart says: Reading 3 - 1 Wigan

Personally I am more worried about what happens on Saturday.

Also we have Kelly now on the right to counter their left. Think this game will be much easier than the Villa one but we do need two wins in these games to give us a really good chance of staying up.

We need to win this, but I don't think we will.
It's a winnable game for us, but Wigan will be thinking the same.
Reading 1-2 Wigan

And Wigan can't afford to lose it either. They will be 5 points behind us if they do.

I agree both teams can't afford to lose, however I have a feeling we will. The only good thing about this is my recent betting history has not been good.

Got a bad feeling about this!

Can see us bottling it! 3-1 Wigan!

Have some faith!

2 - 1 win after we fall behind at the end of the first half.

Usual formula - both goals in the last ten minutes. Le Fondre and Kebe. Job done.

Blimey, I was worried thinking 1-2, but I thought most would predict a Reading win.

I think, if we lose we'll lose at Everton and then to Villa, and it's Goodnight Irene.

So (Please God) don't let us lose

I think the mentality is different this time, though.

In 98 we'd looked pretty safe and then the confidence ebbed away in the second half of the season. This time we've had the period of being demoralised and rudderless and we've got put that behind us, so we're in a much better psychological shape to fight and win the crucial games now.

All the people saying "head says Wigan win" are just cowards making a safety prediction to cover their bases.

Wigan have won once in their last ten matches - Reading are favourites for this game.

1-1

Blimey the negativity in this thread is 'almost worrying'. Whatever you do, don't use this as part of your team talk Bri. Then again...

2-2, McAnuff for both, dragging Villa back into the zone for 2 minutes before they bang in a last minute winner against Arsenal.
