Next Season Away Days

by Pandoras Box » 30 Apr 2013 13:03

Thinking of planning early now for where to go next season (dates don't matter). So in the opinion and experience of HNs, which grounds aren't great or worth going to (I'm not including decent pubs and nightlife etc) I'm talking about having a really sh!t restricted view (metal columns), crap seats and where the away support are herded into a small corner of the ground, poor half time offerings, morgue atmosphere ( don't include Madejski) or a rank old type ground (although some die hards prefer these) - and maybe decent close carparks and no threat of death as you leave the ground. :?: - and then again which ones are the best?
Interested.

Millwall
Peterborough (if they stay up)
Bournemouth
Brentford/Yeovil/Swindon (but NOT Sheff U)

Good for you. I think that the 'Reading Fan Mentality' was summed up by the Crawley Cup tie where tickets went quickly and several of us turned up with a Billy Big Spuds attitude, tearing up advertising hoardings and getting thrown out. We're more comfortable in modest surroundings.

For me, the Championship holds nothing new in terms of grounds to visit so I am cutting back on some of the places I ahve been to time and time again. IN for London trips for the DAY OUT and places like Forest with good pubs en route. NOT IN for the sterile, edge-of-town new stadia like Derby.....I have that every other week for home games as it is.

Certainly excited for the cheaper away tickets next season, especially people like me who can't get to all the games it's a blessing in some ways.

I'd like to see a Phoenix From The Flames-style recreation of 'The Goal that Never Was', Dean Court, May 1994. I volunteer Royal With Cheese for this.

I'll give it a go but, to be brutally honest, I'm no Kirby.

That was a great day out.

If we can get Paul Black to do it then I am fairly certain that none of us will ever bother attending a Reading game again as that would top anything else that could ever happen.

Even Annie Bassett being rimmed by Ian Branfoot on the half way line?
