Why would we pay someone's contract up? Would rather have him here as a reserve for an injury crisis.

According to Wikipedia he was on an 18 month contract from January 2012, so that is finished in a couple of months.

Why would we pay someone's contract up? Would rather have him here as a reserve for an injury crisis.
Because he wont play again! He took the option to extend his contract when he found it his hip injury was career threatening and he may need a hip operation. Considering the source of this news (Jordan something) is friends with Ady Williams, I'd trust it was true.
