Team for Brum (H)

by RedRum » 23 Sep 2013 11:18

Think this might be the hardest team decision yet, with lots of players potentially back from short-term injury. I'd like to see Obita get another chance

McCarthy
Kelly, Pearce, Morrison, Bridge
Baird, Guthrie
McCleary, Obita, Drenthe
Pog

Bench: Feds, Gunter, Gorkss, Williams, Le Fondre, Sharp?? (if not Blackman), Robson-Kanu

If Hal is dropped then me and Nige shall be having words.

No need to rush Drenthe back. Our shape looked better without him.

Bridge in for Kelly or Gunts would be the only change I'd make.

We had a few 1-0s with our starting squad, then with the injuries the other lot have taken their chance and won 3-1 and to drop a majority would demotivate them as they've performed then been dropped, so for me a change needed but no more.

McCarthy
Kelly Morrison Pearce Bridge
Guthrie Baird
McCleary Hrk Obita
Pog

Federici Gunter Gorkss Williams Drenthe Alf Sharp (blackman if not signed)

This is if McAnuff is out as well as the other lot and I'd leave tshibola ugwu out for this game use them if we have a injury week like last week.

Actually yeah, Bridge in for Gunter (and swap Kelly back to RB) and that's all. Usual assortment of substitutes.

MouldyRoyal Same as Derby.

I'm not sure they'd loan us their team, and anyway we just beat them 3-1.

---------McCarthy-------------

Kelly--Pearce--Morro--Bridge

------Guthrie--Baird-----------

McCleary---Drenthe---Obita

-------------Pog----------------

I think those back 4 are our strongest back four. Bridge should come straight back in. Guthrie and Baird looked tidy so keep them in. McCleary and Obita bothed performed admirably and I want to see both of them continue that form uninterrupted! Throw Drenthe back in the middle and keep Pog up front. We should beat Birmingham without too much trouble..

Platypuss HRK ahead of Drenthe for me.

You think? He hasn't been playing badly, in fact hes been playing quite well and it would only be fair to let him keep his place considering that was my argument for keeping McCleary and Obita on, but for some reason I want to see Drenthe in a line up every week. I have vague hopes of him pulling off an absolute screamer and making my week.

The only change should be Bridge in for either of Kelly or Gunter.

Any other changes would be criminal after what was a very tidy second half display at the weekend.

Yep - but if Williams is available I fully expect to see him replace Obita...

Fully expect Bridge to come back in for Gunter.

The only others knocking on the door will be Williams and Drenthe. TBH I'd drop Obita for Williams and stick Roy on the bench. No reflection on Obita but I like Williams.

Harsh on both Obita and Tshibola. To be honest, a little bit of me hopes Drenthe and Williams aren't quite fit so we see more of them.

Same back four, other than Bridge for Gunter. Same midfield, other than Williams for Obita.

Cut to Nigel Adkins, sat in front of a flip-chart stroking his chin going "No. That's what they'd be expecting us to do" and then cut to Shaun Cummings running out to play as a deep-lying midfielder or something :|

That's my team apart from HRK would not be losing his place to Drenthe and Gunter keeps his place as well as him and McCleary linked up well
