FAO The Optimists

by P!ssed Off » 23 Nov 2013 17:18

Now we're out of the Play-offs what is the official line of response to those who dare complain.
Obviously "stop complaining, we're in the play-offs" is out the window.

'Work in progress'?
'Attractive football'?

chill out man its still only november and that was not a bad result. An away clean sheet is not to be sniffed at its only our second in our last 42 away games!

I'm an optimist so for me, I'll just write this season off & hope for better next year. Not much else we can do & changing manager again isn't necessarily the answer either.

Doesn't make this season any less shite though. We've looked ok in patches but what worries me is that this is probably the easiest championship in years & despite that, we're right off the pace.

Long way to go still and the only position that counts is the one we're in on the last day of the season

We didn't have half a first team out injured back then either.

1) Tired & annoyed from watching the Ashes all night
2) We just don't look like we are gelling as a side & I suspect it will take a whole season to get it right

History shows we were in a much worse position at this point in the season the last time we won the (this) league. Again, just sayin'...

Injury ravaged, pretty happy to write this whole period off because of it.

Not bothered about not getting immediately promoted either, doubt I can afford a season ticket next year if we do...

I enjoy a good knee jerk as much as the next guy...but seriously, a thread like this after a clean sheet and point at a Blackburn side with the division's best striker?

Odd.

Not odd timing really.
The answer up till now has been "stop complaining, we're in the play-offs".

Now we're out of the play-offs, what is the answer?

Once 'The Optimists' have had a sit down I await to see their official line within the next few days.

If we're seriously harbouring intent of going up we should be expecting to win at places like Blackburn. Expectations on the club are high because of the way they have progressed over the last 10 years and we should not be accepting the general crap we have had to put up with for the last 18 months. If we start accepting second best and not raising concerns about the way things are currently then we'll end up second best.
