Open Letter to Nick(y) Hammond

by Chuckle Brother » 16 Jan 2014 07:34

Dear Nick ( or can I call you Nicky ?)

Given the popular opinion that a takeover has been agreed and new finance is coming (at least in principle), the usual Reading FC transfer window excuses will not wash this time.

Trotting out the usual lines such as having a list of targets but time running out before the deals could be done is not going to cut it.

For information, the window does not open at 4pm on the last day.

Yours sincerely,

Barry Chuckle (and the other one whose name I can't remember and can't be arsed to look up).

Sure mate, you keep punching those slabs of beef, jumping over those park benches while kids follow you and running up steps in preparation for February.

Dear Nick

We have been lacking some creativity in midfield since Gylfi left the club. Why has this not been addressed in 10 transfer windows since?

Kind Regards

is it cos creative players like him dont come around very often, and when they do lots of other clubs are in for them?

Dear Nicky

Thanks for getting £5.5M off Leicester for Matt Mills, for your next trick will you be selling ice to the eskimos or sand to the Arabs?

One suspects the latter.

Lots of love,

Big Foot

I'm really surprised that such an incredibly well run club isn't more attractive than lots of other clubs.

Get a grip. We dont need someone on the same level to Gylfi. Just a player that plays in the number 10 role to a reasonable standard. How long has it been, 2/3 years..

Dear Nick

Why do you bother? You do a cracking job by almost all standards and all you get is whininess off of intermong belmonts. I for one don't want you to leave but surely you'd be happier doing something else? Unless of course you're better than me and never read the toss these clowns write on here?

Best of luck and continued success

Dunno why folk pick on Nick. He only has the finances that are made available to him.

I can understand the frustration that we give it all the big nuts and then sign a player we found in a skip who only has one knee but that's our owners fault, not Nicks.

If they don't want to spend the money, there ain't much Nicky can do.

Does Nicky Hammond do scouting for Reading?

And also, who else makes up the scouting team?

It's just Reading never really buy technically decent players, so I was wondering why they haven't been replaced with better scouts?
