Well it's a step down from 100 goals, which was ridiculous in any regard anyway, considering when we blitzed the Championship we scored 99 goals.

I do like to see a bit of confidence returning to the club though.

I don't. Well not like this. Adkins was right to set a target of enjoying the season, and letting young talent emerge, taking the pressure off the players. He and they have looked like they have been enjoying themselves, and then, after just 7 games he does this. I don't think it's helpful.

24 wins would have got us in the playoffs but not enough to be champions - unless we drew all of the games bar 1. We would have almost certainly come ahead of Burnley in that case with our probably vastly superior goal difference (based on scoring 100 goals and keeping 21 clean sheets).

I suspect when Adkins said it we were already in a position where this was not possible.
