Doesn't matter how shit things get this season, It could always be worse. 0-0 at half time and the scoreline still flattered us.

Ironic that both scorers that day ended up having key roles in 2 of our subsequent promotions

had just arrived at LHR and gone straight to the match having spend 3 months watching England get humiliated in the Ashes, thinking it couldn't get worse, then BANG! 0-6 defeat.

Dark Days.

I took a friend on his first visit to the mad stad for this. He never went back. It was so bad i was laughing at the end.

I thought 0-3 on boxing day vs a young and utterly shit.wimbledon was more humiliating.

Awful day, did Mark Mackeever (?) also not play for them that day then came to us on loan some time later?

I remember that game. We left when it got to four-nil. Heard the fifth one go in as we got to the car. Found out finished six nil on the drive home. Appalling.

The one and only time I've sat in the North stand for a league game.
I'm tempted to do it again just to see if it was my fault ...

...is the one and only time I've accepted a lift home after a game - Geordie mate from the Pub - didn't go very often (was a local Ref in the Kids leagues - had done some scouting for Newcastle - though I think he was actually a 'Mackem') - natch we sat in the MadStad Car Park queues for at least 3/4 hour afterwards - evidently not crowd size; perhaps just people's inability to get a move on after such a devastating afternoon?

Selection included : Howie, Elroy :o , Bernal, Byron G , 'Skittles', Parkie, Keith MacP, Houghton, Sarr etc (Casper & Brebner suspended) - does actually seem like a lifetime ago....

The car parking was a shambles in the first season. The relief road was still a building site so there was only one exit

Odd reading that match report and knowing that the 2 Rovers players mentioned both ended up playing for us....

I have to admit to missing that game, this was my pre-season ticket days where funds meant I had to pick and choose games.

We got in to the game 20 minutes late due to traffic, so got in relieved to hear it was still 0-0 and we'd not missed anything. Then the second half happened and we wished we had missed everything.
