Team for Wolves (a)

by Sutekh » 03 Feb 2015 10:43

Reckon on three in midfield and the Yak on the bench on Saturday. Also noting that it is the first game of 9 games in 1 month (1 game ever 3 or 4 days) so expecting a little bit of squad "rotation" being masked as playing a more defensive line up when away from home.

Federici
Kelly (assuming Gunter still not fit)
Obita
Pearce
Hector
Norwood
Chalaboah
Williams
McLeary
HRK
Pog

Subs

Andersson
Yakubu
Mackie
Karacan
Blackman
Travner
Cox

A whole lot depends on The Yak's fitness, and whether McCleary is OK

Would love to see 442 with McCleary feeding The Big F Russian and The Yak

Away, maybe start 451 and go 442 on the hour if 0-0

Would love to see the same starting 11 as we had on Sat, but with one change: the Yak starting instead of Cox.

:D

Federici; Kelly, Hector, Pearce, Obita; Chabolah, Williams; McCleary, Cox, Mackie; Pogrebnyak
Subs: Andersen, Cooper, Norwood, Karacan, HRK, Blackman, Yakubu

I think they'll target Hector and Obita after the 3-3 here, let's play two powerful midfielders and Mackie to help out. If things go well, bring Norwood on for Cox to help see out the match.

I imagine the only change from Saturday will be Norwood in for Cox. Clarke seems to favour 4-5-1 (or 4-1-4-1 or 4-2-3-1 or however you want to view it) for away games and generally prefers to keep games tight until around the 60 minute mark when he could introduce Blackman / Cox / Yak etc.

However, what we have seen is that he is not afraid to make changes depending on the personnel / formation required for each game so there may be a surprise.

Amazes me that most games HRK gets between a 4-5 rating but still appears in most fans starting line up.

It's because generally the alternative is Nick Blackman.

Mackie to miss out. i'd rather have him around then Blackman, but I don't think Clarke will go that way.

We could always play Travner and shift Obita forward.

No, stay as you were.
