Middlesbrough (H) Prediction Thread

by St. Brynjar » 28 Sep 2015 13:05

This one is going to be huge. Always is for me since my family loyalties are split between the two teams, probably the two best teams in the division right now, both with bags of confidence.

Boro's squad is seriously strong. New signings Diego Fabbrini and David Nugent have hit the ground running, with Kike a more than adept replacement. Forced out to the wing is Christian Stuani, an international with 23 appearances for Uruguay, a team not exactly known for a lack of capable forwards. Then you've got the ridiculous signing of Stewart Downing for a Championship side.

This is all in addition to what was the meanest defence in the league last year in Friend, Ayala, Gibson/Amorebieta and Kalas. If Boro don't go up I fully expect Aitor Karanka to unmask himself as Iain Dowie or Paul Hart.

If we can win this it'll be a massive result, every bit as good as Burnley away. I'll go 3-2 - Piazon (2) and Hector, Stuani and Fabbrini for them.

I can see this as being one of those horrible days. We start brightly, create some good chances then, against the run of play, Boro go 1-0 up with their first attack of the game (around 30 mins). Then, we push forward but cannot get a break through before 2 quick fire goals on 65 and 68 minutes put us 3-0 down and therefore ending the game as a contest. We will pull a consolation back on 87 minutes to make the final score Reading 1 Boro 3. Hector for us.

fantastic result over the weekend. hopefully we can continue this form! After this transfer window I had high hopes for this side to contend for promotion and so far I haven't been disappointed!

is Sa going to be back for this match or will that be the last match of his ban?

Absolute rubbish.

Every knows that it's HRK who scores a consolation when we're 3-0 down

Life is great mate! sold 16 cars so far this month so that will be a nice little paycheck :D, new apartment is great as well!

I wish I was able to be off on the weekends so I could catch a few more matches on streams but overall I cant complain as it is only my first job out of uni.

How are you mate? its been a while.

That reads a lot like last season match reviews.

Boro are looking very strong at the moment, organised
Watched the Leeds game and they looked like they did just enough of what they needed to do (Leeds self imploded)
This is going to be a tough one ,dont think Boro will settle for a point to be honest
There full of confidence but so are we

This is going to be a cracker if theres an early goal cant wait

Against a young Stephen Quinn no less, let's hope he's not on the losing side this time round.

Funny you should say that, I was thinking the same - if we can win this I think we'll be staking a claim as a real challenger. Boro are an excellent side and beating them will really show that we have the quality to go on and do something in this division.

No vydra or Quinn again
2-2 draw
End to end game
Hector gets a bad looking injury

I'm not sure if Vydra is injured. Im hoping SC is cleaver enough to have rested Vydra from the Burnley game with the intention of using SA and Vydra for this Saturday which should suit them both being high tempo and more technical than the Burnley match. If so then I'll go for a Reading win 2-1. If the pair don't play together I'll go for 1-1 draw.
