quickwingerswife When McDermott was here before he used the long ball a lot

quickwingerswife When McDermott was here before he used the long ball a lot and the team was crying out for a ball playing midfielder. I can't see Norwood being much use to this high tempo up an under approach. McDermott deserved the sack before as he tried to play like this in the Premiership where he got found up.

quickwingerswife No, he would just get urged from the bench to get rid and that little bit of time a good midfield general needs would get painted out. Mick Gooding, Johnny Giles, Simon Osborne et al thrived on this 2 second thought space, Norwood's got it but it's going to get knocked out of him with McDermott.

Here's a thought for you to ponder. Maybe he was looking for a ball playing CM to channel through but AZ wasn't spreading the money?

quickwingerswife The tactics became so raw I just got fed up and bored I stopped going. Oliver Norwood has been the only star this season, I'm sure his time will be up.

And wasn't Matt Mills just following the manager's instructions when he kept pinging those long balls that led to 'MillsGate' ?

Yes he was. And that manager was Brendan Rodgers.
