Doubt he'll go this month, but looks nailed on both him and Hal will leave in the summer.

Wouldn't get a sniff in at Newcastle unless Janmaat leaves. No idea who plays RB for West Brom or Norwich tbh.

Really need to keep Gunter if we can, however I don't think this will be possible given his age and therefore probably the last decent move he'll be able to command. Reckon he'll have a load of options on the table and will take one of them up after the Euros.

Personally I think he's a great attacking full back, certainly in the Championship and probably good for a lower PL club.

And given we have no specialist right back cover of any experience (aren't Long and Keown the only options that have 1st team squad experience?) it's a position we'll certainly have to move for in the summer.

Exactly same will go for HRK.

He can't go unless we find a replacement. Maybe that's why BMc is still looking

Reading defender Chris Gunter is being pursued by a trio of Premier League clubs, Metro Sport can reveal.

Gunter, who is the current first choice right-back for Wales in the lead up to Euro 2016, is entering the final six months of his contract with Championship side Reading.

The 26-year-old is well into his fourth season with Reading after completing his £2.5million from Nottingham Forest and, as contract talks stall, has caught the eye of a host of clubs.

Premier League trio Norwich, Newcastle and West Brom have all been monitoring his current situation as have Championship clubs QPR and Middlesbrough.

Given his contract situation, Reading officials could be willing to cash in on Gunter during the January transfer window and could be available for the modest fee of just £500,000.

So if he's "worth" £500,000 we'll only get 3 Million?

Bec MUST be looking for a right back. I hope he gets an old fashioned hard-man

Not saying he should but can Quinn play right back?

So do I. He's a decent right-back at this level, probably our fittest player. £500k is nothing. What replacement are we going to get with that?! May as well see out his contract if we're not extending it.

Linking articles from the Metro and believing them should be a bannable offence.

That pretty much covers it. The Reading Way is back with a bang. The bigger wage earners are being moved out for cheaper alternatives. BM fits the mould for the manager to do a job on the cheap. Meanwhile the Thai's build their houses, flats, ice rinks, then take away our car park, and sell up and fcuk off.

You make the basic assumption that cheaper wages always equals worse performer. The club has a budget to work with like any other. If they are over paying wages for any bang average player then recycling money to reinvest makes complete sense. This is how any company operates, not just football clubs.

Yes please, but only if we have a replacement lined up.

Tbh we might as well play McCleary at right back, just as bad at defending but at least he can cross the damn thing (sometimes).

Always thought Karacan would have been a good right back, and in a different way, I'd quite like to see Williams try to learn some discipline and give it a go

Wouldnt be a huge loss. Good athete but an awful defender and can't cross. He's probably on high wages too
