Midfielder signs a permanent deal with League Two Grecians
24-year-old midfielder Jake Taylor has been allowed to leave the club to this afternoon join Paul Tisdale’s Exeter City on a free transfer.
Taylor came through the Royals’ Academy ranks from the age of eight to make his first team debut in a 3-3 draw at home to Northampton Town in a Carling Cup clash back in August 2010.
He went on to make 16(+20) appearances for Reading, scoring three times – in between loan stints at Aldershot Town, Cheltenham Town, Crawley Town, Leyton Orient and most recently Motherwell north of the border.
However Taylor’s most successful loan spell came at St James Park with the Grecians themselves, making 26 league starts and scoring three goals during City’s 2011-12 League One campaign.
His loan spell at Fir Park has been brought to an early end to allow Taylor to immediately link up with the 13th placed League Two side, who face Hartlepool United this weekend.
Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to wish Jake the best of luck in his future career.
Not unexpected but very much out of the blue, asked Charles Watts if there were any add ons, he said it was just a free transfer, guess the club are just allowing him to move on.
