Ipswich (A) Prediction Thread, sponsored by Spacey.

by Platypuss » 01 Feb 2016 12:16

Due to the recent outbreak of Cup Fever (TM) it's naturally understandable that our upcoming trip to Dipshits Town hasn't been at the forefront of people's minds.

So my perusal of our recent results with the Spactor Boys was accompanied by a fair amount of

Have a look at this (courtesy of the rather excellent http://www.royalsrecord.co.uk):

2010-11 FLC H W 1-0 A W 3-1
2011-12 FLC A W 3-2 H W 1-0
2013-14 FLC H W 2-1 A L 0-2
2014-15 FLC H W 1-0 A W 1-0
2015-16 FLC H W 5-1 A -

P9 W8 L1!

Naturally all my money will be going on the Suffolk inbreds.
2-0.

That's a bloody solid record against Ipswich, hell we did the double on them last season and we were oxf*rd yet they got the play-offs.

3-1
Vydra with the late consolation. Royals slip closer to a relegation battle, but still far enough away to keep loling at Bristol City.

Ironic that we are playing Ipswich in the next game after closure of the transfer window.
Remember when Burns brought in the (not so) magnificent 7 on deadline day-IIRC they nearly all played and 2 got sent off which wasn't the best of starts.

Ipswich 1 Reading 5
Kanu scores a hat-trick to prove that we were right to turn down the measly offer of £10 million offered by Swansea on deadline day.
Or..........

Goals flying in in the cup. Confidence building, form improving, shape and first XI emerging, signings starting to have had time to settle.

Ipswich 2-1 Reading
Kermorgant

Sky falls. Vydra and HRK are back to being the worst players ever again.

Another league double over Ipswich. 1-0 us Kermorgant to score. First away win since September.

Ipswich 1-2 Reading
(Williams 17)
(Sears 33)
(Vydra 76)

Outplay them in the first half until we go a goal down, then Reading will be outplayed until John comes on in the 72nd minute and somehow win.

My £5 will be on a Reading win. Interested to know how we will go a goal down if Williams scores first?

I think one striker will suit us away and they've had some pretty naff results of late.

0-1 (Robson-Kanu)

I'm baffled by that record. I had them in my head as a semi bogey team. Clearly very wrong.

0-2 Kermorgant x2

Recent history would suggest that a win is on the cards. Close call with Kermie lad, buoyed by his rendition of 'Stand By Me', to provide assist for Vyds to score. With the latter stood by the songster. 1-0.

Yeah, it's ridiculous to expect a team to play on Saturday and Tuesday right?
