Remember it's a Marathon not a Sprint

by Reading4eva » 03 Aug 2017 22:49

I'm confident we will get what we want this season and that is Promotion. The signings Stam has made have been astute, whilst the best business has been keeping those players who got us so close last season.

The league I believe is weaker this year (Which ultimately is a bigger credit to Huddersfield than anyone else), but we have to realise we are not going to repeat the 106 season. Only Leicester come close and that was in a league which included a terrible Yeovil side, and then they went on to win the Premier League 2 years later.

Remember it's a Marathon not a Sprint and whilst we might not have our desired striker at the moment if we can end August in or around the top 6 (Hope Norwich get off to a dreadful start and we can go back in for Oliviera making him ultimately cheaper and more unsettled), I'm sure Stam will sort it out.

And remember the last two times we have been beaten in the Playoff final we've gone on to win automatic promotion. I'm confident it will happen again.

Come on you Royals!

(Just avoid bloody Wembley at all costs)

Need a solid start though to build confidence. League will be tougher I think. With a number of team vying for the top 6 spots. Still need a couple of good signings at least. Players that will make the first team not simply be speculative buys.

We either need that striker to come in, or Yann to recover and be at the level he was second half of last season which is a big ask

If we do that, I don't see many stronger teams in tw division. 'Boro look good, but otherwise all the Derby/Norwich/Villa type teams all look pretty beatable

For me the concern is a striker. We need an out and out striker who can finish. Should we get one that goes straight into the team then we have every chance.
