You definitely need a new keeper. Mannone looked a bit of a calamity and I'm sure your defence were nervous with him as a result.

You don't need Aluko. He doesn't bring what you need to that deep-lying midfield role. BUT it is not wrist-slashing time. You'll win more than you lose in this division playing like you did in the first half. You've got some pace up there and need to hit teams on the break more. The goal from Bo reminded me of when we used to have Daryl Murphy; he played with the same intelligence and power.

I think you need another striker, someone quick who can occupy defences and create space for Bo and/or Baldock. I wasn't sure why you signed Baldock; he's never been prolific and he's more of a 'player in the hole' type, like McGoldrick was for us, than an out-and-out striker.

McShane may look a liability but he's clever. He'll guide those around him and he's not afraid. Meyler is prone to yellow cards but he can link the midfield to the attack; I did worry he was past it but thought he played well in parts last night.

Good post and spot on. I hadn't ever really noticed Vito much, he did his job to a decent level. Last night was a bit of a disappointment though. Maybe he's just finding his feet (hands), and may settle down a bit...

I know from experience that quite often keepers improve lots game-to-game. Remember AAH, people wanted him dropped immediately, and yet he turned out to be a massive massive player for us in terms of some of his performances.
