Under normal circumstances such a negative post as this would seem premature!
However, I was neither surprised or encouraged by the result from Friday’s game v Derby.
The style of play may ( thank God) have changed but the quality in the team has not improved.
We have yet another combination of shortage in defence, dodgy keeper, no creativity in midfield and wasteful forward line.
Unfortunately a frank assessment says that we need a new GK, CB, CM and CF.
Yes all the C’s which points to a spineless team which cannot keep a lead, cannot control midfield and is likely to crumble near the end of the game.
As for the manager, he doesn’t really excite at all - does he???
The only positive for him is that he does appear to just about keep his teams up ( Swansea and Reading, for example). But as for Promotion or even play-offs - forget it.
Away at Forest is now a must win game and we are already up against it in my opinion.
But I hope I am wrong.

A home defeat, or any defeat, is rarely encouraging. Thing is, saying 'we're better than last year's shambles, and that's good enough for me' has it's limitations as it relates to beating the other teams this year, because they may have improved, too. From today's results, some teams don't look as bad as some thought. Anyway, there were some positive signs yesterday and some things we can build on.
