Solutions to problems (instead of moaning)

by Forbury Lion » 09 Oct 2018 16:57

Do we have any realistic solutions to problems? If so, state the problem and share any solutions without repeating one already listed.

Injuries - Review training regimes and review medical staff
Fitness - Same as above really
Motivation - Get someone with passion in tasked with doing just this (Like when Pardew bought Martin Allen in), Change the manager, Encourage the players or Scare them stories of what could happen to their careers in League One

Wtf is this? Are you going to take a list of actions to Paul Clement and demand deals with them one by one?

Of course not, don't be stupid. I'm going to send it to the owners.

How about doing the HT talk on the pitch, it might give them the view that the first half didn`t end.
Seem to remember Hull doing it some years back.

Fan expectations/patience/general unhappiness or indifference - Owners issue a statement of intentions/game plan, Be more open - actually admit things are bad rather than try to suppress any bad news.

Atmosphere & Attendance - Reduce ticket prices & offer some incentive to season ticket holders who turn up (free beer voucher that can only be used on that day?) then hopefully have a full house/better atmosphere..... unless they all boo/protest! Maybe the club could engage STAR and offer some £'s towards another Beach Day party or something positive rather than a protest/pants day?

Losing a game? - Bring on some injured players as subs and then hope we end up with fewer than 7 players on the pitch to get the game abandoned (See Battle of Bramall Lane).

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Jesters hats on fire off the World Turned Upside Down. I watched wheelchairs glitter in the dark near Reading Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

This is sounds like a mid year appraisal that went horribly bad.

Are you actually being serious about this?

instead of moaning that we gave Meite a 4 year contract , get the coaches to work with him on ball retention and trapping the ball a bit better. In fact this should be basic stuff with all the players.

If someones weakness is taking a corner, get them to take 20 a training session, work on the shape and delivery.

look at zonal marking at corners , is this the right way to defend?

if someone is not good at taking on a player (Aluko, not moaning honest) work on them have them do several different runs at a defender

to me it seems simple to iron out some of these issues, boost a players skill and confidence which leads to better performances.

Clement to look at himself, is he really delivering the half time team talk correctly? if the same mistakes happen after half time everytime. Is there something different the players feel or see that makes them cave in. i don't actually doubt his coaching level but i think he personally perhaps needs to think about his managerial skill, how can improve in his delivery on that side?

just don't get why people are constantly looking for statements from the owners.
what difference does it make. theyre just investors and money men, their aim is to make more money.
their only role is to provide funds (they have done) put a management team in place to run the club (they have done) and sack people when that management team doesn't work (it doesn't, and they should.)

as for attendance- we already lose a lot of money every year. people will come if the "product is good"(it isn't)
you could literally charge a tenner a game right now and I still wouldn't bother.

Rather than that, what about waiting till the very last moment to come back out and hit the ground running, meaning that the opposition has had to hang around and possibly doing a Reading and being on the back foot?
Particulary relevant in the cold or wet.

Interesting that PC has mentioned that the large squad if causing issues behind the scenes, players moping around etc

most proactive thing that can be done by the club is making sure we are getting rid of the likes of Edwards, McShane, Pelle Clement, Aluko, Harriott or McCleary on 1st January and getting loans sorted for Richards, Loader, Barrett, and possibly RInomhota

The club are so tight though. You and I know the club would have to take a big loss on all of the players you mentioned in order to get rid but I don't think Gourlay will allow it, too tight and too proud.
