its time NOW for boycott and to support your local non league club

by Harrison Delbridge » 18 Sep 2024 10:04

support your local team, they need the money and support more then our soulless team

there are plenty of teams about that can see the benefit of this and actually care about the fans

Firstly, why is it the time for a boycott?

Secondly... I don't really care about non-league football. I care about Reading. If for some reason I couldn't watch Reading then my next priority would be quality football.

Right now the club need us more than ever, watching another team won't make any difference other than make it worse off

Describing the team as ‘soulless’ seems very odd.

Not sure boycotting makes any sense and I’m guessing it’s proposed by someone who doesn’t go to games anyway.

As for non league, I’d absolutely encourage people to get acquainted with your local non league team. It’s an utterly different experience and I love it. Quality is obviously going to vary as ‘non league’ covers teams who are full time professional down to park football. We’ve got decent teams all round the area - Slough, Maidenhead, Bracknell, Marlow, Hungerford, Aldershot all at a good level and several former Reading players involved at some of them.

Let's wait and see where we are when this new set of dust settles. If there is a new prospective buyer now negotiating, doing stupid things like boycotting or causing games to be abandoned would be retarded ideas.

Reading FC will be a non league club soon so we can carry on supporting them.

And get plenty of local derbies in the process! Plus non league doesn't exist in BBC Berksland too, so another bonus.

Anyone who watches Aldershot is a traitor

Nice of Dai to try and being back all the old rivalries after decades of not playing them. Last year Oxford and soon to be Swinedon and Aldershit.

Tbh if we dropped out of the league I think there’s a non-zero chance that BBC Berks gets merged with one of the other local services, I think complaints from Reading fans are the only reason it didn’t happen at least once in the past.

Ignoring the personal accusation but addressing the original post.

You know this is a deliberate disingenuous post from an attention seeking poster at a time when genuine fans are concerned

If you’re the new broom you claim to be , then his nonsense has to stop on here .

Oh. Yeah fair enough, difficult one, I don’t want over censor the board, deleting posts just because we don’t like it ?Slippery slope that. On the other hand, I completely agree with you. It is deliberately disingenuous, from the boards attention seeking troll at a time we don’t need this sort nonsense. However taking away the context of who made the post and when you look at the skin and bones of it all. All he’s said is support your local non league team instead - which has some merit tbf.

Hmmm I’ll have a think.

Support Reading til it dies, then the phoenix. If you have a local NL side by all means go along, but tbh they don't provide the same passion; it's a nice afternoon out.

Maybe we need to change the chant to "Reading 'til we die", as most of us will outlive the club.

It’s good to have more moderation from brogue but we need to be careful not to end up with over moderation.

If one doesn’t like a post or a thread then don’t click it or read it or scroll on by, if one knows they don’t care for a particular poster don’t open their threads.

We all have our own views and opinions but I want HNA to stay light hearted
