Next manager

by Clyde1998 » 04 Dec 2024 15:51

When Selles inevitably leaves the club, who do we think would get the job.

I think realistically someone like James Oliver-Pearce or Noel Hunt would be most likely, simply because I can't see how we'll attract an external appointment to come to the club.

Assume the embargo would mean we cannot pay compensation for a new manager so would most likely be internal appointment.
Plus, who the hell would want to come here whilst we are still owned by the odious toad

Get in there and nab Mark Robins before someone else does, in the hope his 5 games for us has given him a lifelong affinity with the club!

It will be someone already employed by Reading FC or with a strong affinity for the club. So either NH, JOP or as a massive long shot, McDermott coming back for a third and final shot at it on a relatively small wage.

Given most manager want to take their own back room staff with them there is probably a good chance that JOP goes with him…

Mark Robins please.

But we all know it’ll be Noel Hunt as no one in their right mind will join the club with the current non-ownership.

I would be gutted if Selles left but Rweinstating Bwian would win me over.

There are lots of unemployed managers who'd jump at us. Look at Selles potentially going to Hull. They'll roll the dice, get good money for a while and then a payout when sacked.

Can't blame Ruben for wanting to leave but to Hull?

You'd think he'd be aiming higher than a club in an relegation scrap, owned by a Turkish Simon Cowell , who sacked off Liam Rosenior end of last season (after finishing 7th) , due to ' a difference of opinion on the team's style of football '....

Seems like a potential basket case.

Unless of course he knows something that we don't ..

He didn’t come with him originally did he? Think he was a Bowen man

Would put him and Hunt in charge. Suppose basically give Hunt the role but increase JOP’s responsibilities

Just realised the last manager to choose to leave us when we were good is Coppell, maybe arguably Pardew, if you're talking for another club.

Coppell left right before a transition season, so it's hard to tell how good we actually were. I'd argue Pardew was the last and McGhee was the one before him.

Dai will turn to PInce

Seriously, we only have one option and that’s Hunt.
