Almost exactly 2 years to the day, perennial yo-yo club Rotherham United return to Reading looking to collect 3 points.
Only it seems that this season someone has cut the yo-yo’s string as the Millers are currently languishing 8 points below Reading in 14th place in the table (presumably now looking for a new string in time for next season?).
Form for the South Yorkshire outfit is currently pretty dreadful with just 1 win (home v Cambridge) to show from their last 5 league games, and even though they came away with a creditable 0-0 from their visit to Blackpool last time out, this game should be seen as a game that Reading should win - particularly as Noel’s boys should have a point to prove after the “whatever the hell that was” that we all got served up with v Shrewsbury.
Steve Evans has tried to pick things up for the South Yorkshire side by bringing in two loanees in the January window (Danny Gore from ManU and Louie Sibley from Oxford) to aid the flourishing Millers frontline of Malik Wilks, Sam Nombe and Johnson Clarke-Harris all of whom have recorded 6 league goals each so far. Also in the mix for this one will be one time Royal Zac Jules so expect the usual embarrassing moment if he plays

No Dean, no Elliott and no Dorsett still. Also don’t expect Yiadom to get a place on the bench either. After the aforementioned “ whatever the hell that was” you’d expect some sort of shake up to the team, even if it is just a first start for Bodin but whether Noel agrees remains to be seen.
Referee
“The” Thomas “Alan” Parsons “Project” - let’s hope there’s no Reading player waiting on the turn of a card.
