Ashdown Fee.

by RoyalBlue » 05 Aug 2006 15:48

According to the introduction to an interview with Jamie Ashdown in Great Save magazine (received just the other day), the tribunal have still not yet decided on the fee we should receive from Portsmouth for Jamie Ashdown!

Judging by other references within the interview, it wasn't conducted that long ago, so is it really true that we have yet to receive our compensation/fee?

Interesting to note that when Ashdown is asked 'Who has been the greatest influence in making you the player you are today?' he replies 'Phil Parkinson at Reading when I was there.....he really has been a great influence on my football career.'

Strange, Pretty sure I read 2 years ago that it has been agreed. I don't think it was a tribunal, they just paid up I think

Portsmouth OS no help - no mention of fees paid for any of their squad members.

I wouldn't trust the bbc's Lazy journalism as a source of information on this.

nb. I know that radio berks is different as the journalists are generally passionate about the club.

Maybe Ashdown doesn't care about what was paid for him as long as he gets paid?

Nicky Hammond on the Beeb link that biscuitman provided said not wrote Reading director of football Nicky Hammond said: "I'm happy with the fee we have agreed and feel that it protects the integrity of the academy."

I don't fancy our chances of getting any money out of Pompey, did anyone notice that they only had 3 subs on the bench on Saturday?
