Transfer Deficit

by The 17 Bus » 20 Sep 2006 19:44

is a long shot but can anyone show what we have paid, and what we have recieved since Terry Bullivant took over to the current day?

I reckon that the loss, (investment) would pay for the Stadium.

At a rough guess we've spent anout £12m-£14m and recouped about 12-14p.

Off the top of my head Bullivant spent about £1.5m (Asaba, Primus, Hodges, Davies, Legg, Bowen)

Burns spent about £3m (Macintyre, Murty, Forster for biggish money)

Pardew spent about £4m (Biggish signings Whitehead, Butler, Harper, Rougier, Cureton, Goater, Murray)

Coppell has spent about £5m

I think we got money for Brebner, Tyson, Henderson, Murray and not a lot else.

I think we got cash for Butler - and of course 500k for that stalwart Hughesy!

I thought Butler went on a free. Forgot about Hughes in both the debit and credit stakes. Easily done.

Burns spent more than £3m, all those truly shite buys are coming back to me now. Evers, Scott, Crawford, Gray, Gurney, Sarr, MacLaren. £1m+ pissed up a wall.

We also had the young guy come up through the academy (too early in the morning to remember his name!) who was expected to do great things and was taken by Leeds(?) when they were still a big club. His (twin?) brother was also at the academy.

Indeed they were. Shaun (the keeper) is now at a non league side and Ricky (CB) was at Basingstoke last season.

By Basingstoke I think you mean Thatcham, and I think Shaun is now at Staines.

Shows just what heights you can reach when you go to a big club like Leeds.

(Many fees are subjective, depending on which reports you believe. Ignores subsequent money for appearances, internationals etc)

Wasn't it a deal whereby the fee was exactly equal to the money outstanding on the transfer at the time? If so, it pretty much equates to a free transfer.

Didn't we get a nice slug of money when Tyson went to Forest?
