Charlton Coaches

Just reminded me of when I was walking past their coaches on Saturday, do any of the Addicks fans actually come from London now?

Yes, proper pikey Chatham/Maidstone club. We should have trotted out the classic Millwall ditty:

I can't read and I can't write
But I wear gold and Nike
Cos I come from Gillingham
And I'm a fukking pikey

Strange. Most of our coaches have their initials marked on them. Maidstone seems a long commute for training sessions.

Spacey's attempted joke crashes and burns as he doesn't realise that the other Gillingham is in Dorset!

why shouldn't Charlton fans live in North West Kent? It's not as if it's a million miles away and a lot of people in SE London move that way to get out of the city. Plus, Charlton do a hell of a lot of promotion in the area.

... and it's with a hard G, unlike the Kent one which is pronounced 'Jillingham'.

Just trying to educate you lot.

Don't bother. Spacey has a PhD in grammatical inconsistencies. And he hates paw spelin.

Nothing wrong with CharLOLton bussing people in from outside their immediate catchment area, if you need to attract fans why not lay on a few coaches from Sussex and Kent to bring them in rather than look crap on the box by not selling out?

I live nr Horsham and know of a few people who get the bus from Pease Pottage up to CharLOLton.

PaLOLace have a bus from Billingshurst that goes via Horsham and Crawley to Selhurst too.

I have a mate from down here in Worthing that is a Charlton STH as it was under £320 (He is a Manure fan) The coach co. is Brighton, but leaves Worthing every matchday. Costs about a fiver per game.

Costs me and my daughter £20.35 every home game from Worthing by train, cheaper to go to London away games.

Maybe its about time that Reading or STAR investigated the feasability of running coaches from outlying areas for STH.

Agreed. Our catchment area has massively expanded, I know a couple of Aldershot fans that complain to me that the attendances are down at the rec because of us, which makes me happy. We have the whole of Berkshire at our feet to get more fans.
