Sly at Everton

by premiership_bound » 10 Jan 2007 13:08

Screen legend Sylvester Stallone will be at Goodison on Sunday to cheer on David Moyes' side when they take on Reading.

A close friend of new Everton major shareholder, Robert Earl, the Rocky and Rambo star will be taking the opportunity to attend Sunday's match before travelling to London for Tuesday's UK Premiere of Rocky Balboa, the sixth film in the famous boxing series.

There will be some special events planned before the game to mark Sly's arrival at Goodison.

Chief Executive Keith Wyness told evertonTV: "It is exciting news that Sylvester Stallone is coming across to Goodison.

"Robert Earl, the new investor, has been very kind to arrange for Rocky to come up to a game and it is going to be quite an occasion. I think of all the film stars around today, there are not many you can take onto the pitch at a sporting occasion and have some relevance. But Sylvester - and his part as Rocky - has a special place in the hearts of sports fans."

Further details of events planned for the arrival of the Hollywood star will be revealed later this week.

I could argue that he ruined it by taking his helmet off and kissing Judge Hershey.

Perhaps he's there to give some goalkeeping tips to his fellow countryman Tim Howard?..!
