Though I think it was more of Newcastle being crap than them being brilliant.
Still, not so far to go and watch the stiffs in the next round.

Newcastle looked awful but you can't say Birmingham didn't play well.

Brum looked well organised, quick in the attack, and pretty tricky on the wings.

We're going to have to put out a reasonable side to beat them.

But will we ???? Judging by the crowd size tonight, is it worth putting out a first team in the cup when we prefer to watch Prem League ??
BIG question..always loved the F A Cup in past but seems different now we've got Prem football regularly.

FA Cup will always have that certain magic for me and I'd be delighted with a good run - with Premiership safety assured as well! :D

Get your arse in gear, and put out our first team!!

I suddenly think of some startling parrallels here... we all think it.

Come on people, what was the quality of the two teams tonight at St James' like in comparrison to thetwo that played before us on New Years Day? I'm interested in your honest opinions.

Just one of my thoughts is I think Upson was doubling his efforts for some reason...

Will be interesting to see what sort of team Bruce puts out against us? Even our reserves would have put up more of a fight than Newcastle tonight they were shocking. On the plus side not so far to travel so will be going to this one........ :D

Now would be a good time to take the FA Cup seriously. We could have / should have beaten them last season and didn't, but I think now Sir Steve needs to inject a little bit of light releif in the way of a good cup run.

Agree with the comment that our reserves would have put up a far better fight and performance than Newcastle who were a joke last night. I think it inconceivable that we will lose (even if we do) by such a margin at Birmingham.

I'm still 100% behind Sir Steve's decision to treat the FA Cup as of secondary importance until our Premier League status is guaranteed. In fact I'm even more of that opinion after the recent announcement of the latest obscene TV rights deal. With money like that being dished out, the gulf between Premier League and the rest is likely to widen beyond belief.
