Knowing our fans and the capacity some of them have for moaning and slagging off players i think he might have considered it a compliment

You don't want to do it like that. What you need is Boney M's "Daddy Cool".........

Amazing that he's in the 'Team of the Week'. And good for him for improving so much.

But surely he would be more effective if he lost a bit of weight? Other threads have commented on Paddy Kenny's weight.

It must apply to DLC too.

i know I'm probably an unfair critic of de la cruz, but he got lucky for his goal. he over ran the ball like so often when going forward and got a lucky ricochet to harper, had it gone to a sheff player he'd have been woefull out of position and we could have been in trouble.

fair play though he took the goal well. he just makes me very nervous. Defensively he's ok, but he takes too many risks and his control and passing isn't good enough IMO.

Speaking as the "oxf*rd" who started the song, I can only apologise for confusing you with what us adults call humour...

You are being overly harsh there. I've been a crtic of his but on Saturday he was the best player in a Reading shirt IMHO. Won nearly all his challenges and was prepared to go forward when the opportunity merited.

Yes he got a bit lucky with the ricochet but he wouldn't have got lucky if he hadn't have put himself in to the challenge - you often earn your luck and he did there. I'd ask you if that goal had been scored by Shorey would you be making the same remarks?
