MOTM v Wigan

by higher » 30 Jan 2007 21:56

Decidedly dodgy start tonight but our quality, fitness and work ethic ground down the serious relegation candidates that are Wigwam.Very difficult to pick out a star with another solid team effort (the main thing)to claim yet another 3 points.Ingi for me.Goal and usual steady CB showing.

Murty was very solid, and claiming my man of the match award, in tight contest with Lita.

Hahnemann was solid. The back four opened up very insecure and unbalanced, but sort of found their way. Bikey need to work on clearences and ball control.

Centre midfield was good. Little had his periods, while Hunt didn't excel forwards, particularly being unprecise.

Lita worked well, creating lots of trouble and enjoying a great game. Long got another confidence booster and had a good game.

Would have to say lita, he ran his balls off tonight, held up well, passed well and was a constant threat,

closely followed by Hunt who also had a good game

Definitely Lita - he wanted it far more than anyone else out there. I think this i sthe game where he's come of age as a true Premier league player.

ohagerup Hahnemann was solid.

If that was solid then we have big problems!

I'm afraid Marcus has started to worry me big time - Handling and distribution wasn't great again tonight and he makes far too many errors for my liking.

Watched most of the match on the internet and must agree that Lita is now looking the player that everyone hoped he would be, great running throughout the match and fully deserved his goal, i'll differ with some of you on here as I thought that Hunt was tremendous with his drive and tenacity especialy when coming back to help out the defense, and just where does Harper get his energy from ??

MoM Lita

Another good team performance v. hard to judge an individual, but Lita didnt do much wrong and neither did Ivar.

If anyone votes Bikey they should be shot.

Lita by miles and miles and miles

It's a damn shame we are all offically bored of watching him because his record is pretty handy. Still the genius's on here know best.

What does the guy have to do to impress you? He showed very good touch and control today, not least of which was the chest control and pass to Long for Long's goal.

I'll have to admit that I've compared him to Hughes in the past, but Hunt is proving me and many others wrong.

Glen was excellent second half when he found more space but Lita's atitude and work rate throughout the game was superb and he took his goal well.

Am getting worried about Marcus too. Pulled off some great saves but didn't inspire confidence (Better than Kirkland though. On tonight's evidence it will take an goalkeeping crisis of unseen proportions for him to get anywhere near the England squad again).

Bikey is not a defender. His best performances have been in midfield. Heskey had him on a plate in the first half and he was far too indecisive and panicky. He hit one sublime cross field pass to Hunt in the second half but his distribution was otherwise appalling.

Hunt was hit and miss tonight. Good shot that went inches wide then put a free shot miles wide when he was in acres of space. He gave the ball away alot, missed a one on one but created the second.

Indeed, although it's encouraging to see Federici performing well and the Danish keeper coming in. I think this could well be Marcus' last season as our number one.

With injuries to both Doyle (hamstring) and now Lita (dislocated arse), that leaves us with only two fit strikers. Can we get one in before the transfer window closes??

lita by a country mile...excellent display and 1 min before he scored i said to one of my mates it would be the icing on the cake if he got a goal......defence for once was a shambles though and midfield was overrun for long periods but royals deserved to win though
