Ratings Vs Man U

by Belter! » 27 Feb 2007 23:20

Federici 5/6 Like him a lot but that first goal made heads drop and Utd. made the most of it. Don't blame him for the second or the third (although he did appear to stop) and he was generally solid for the rest of the game, that 1st was a real howler though, unlucky.

DLC 6 Made some great challenges partly responsible for goal no.2. Does get draw out of psoition a lot, but hes nearly always there cutting across to stop chances down the channel.

Shorey 7 Spurred us on after the first 5 mins, but looked shaky imo at times going forward. Solid as ever at the back.

Bikey 7 Was at fault for #2 and in the 1st half Saha had the beating of him in with his strength and for pace. revalation in the 2nd half, some top class challenges especially the one on Rooney

Ingi 5/6 What happened, he was not there for the first 30 mins, nearly everything he touch in the first hour went wrong. Hopefully back to his solid best vs Arsenal.

Seol 6 Bad attitude, he's lazy. IMO thats all thats ever kept him from beign top class, when he was chasing down Van Der Sar just before he was subbed sums him up. Could have got there but stopped when VDS got near, then ran again when the crowd got on his back. Unfairly critiscised where i sit (Y20), has a bad attitude and hes on poor form right now, but groaning as people pass to him before he gets tha ball is simply out of order. Apparently he refused to shake Coppell's hand as he went off, poor, but shows what a bad time he's having, could be leaving in the summer, i'll be sad to see him go.
When he did get the ball and held on to it beyond his first touch his vision was good and he put in a couple of decent crosses, thats why i think he deserves a 6.

Oster 6 Calm and Solid. Played like an extreme version of Harps. Receives the ball runs 2 yards forward, shuffles in front of the defender then passes back or sideways. Should've put more crosses in, Solid at passing it about and he did give us a good momentum, lacking a final product.

Gunnar 9 Barely put a foot wrong, 1 or 2 misplaced passes, and was by far the best on the pitch. Top class. Wouldn't be suprised if he started at Arsenal.

Sidwell 7 Solid, shot too much from long range whenhe could have laid it back and let someone cross, has Little or Hunt started i think he would've been more confident to do this...

Kitson 8 Chased everything held the ball up well. Took his goal well too.

Doyle 6 Could see him working his socks off but didn't look ready. noticed him back helping out the defence and steadying us in the middle of the pitch after there goals, but he got tired too fast

Subs
Little : 8 Did well. made a huge impact, felt he should've come on earlier.
Lita : 8 threatened Utd. a lot shouldve come on earlier too.

Hunt/ Little shouldve been n at half time for Seol/Oster, they were bopth playing at a slower tempo, if we'd has Hunt's energy or Little's skills we might have got that extra goal

Ref: 3 Had a shocker... way behind the play and seemed to favour Utd. a lot, fell for Saha's Lampard impersonation hook line & sinker...

Lita was awful when he came on, apart from scoring a fantastic goal.

As I have said many times before, give him a chance that he doesn't have to think about and he is lethal, brilliant in fact - anything else forget it. He wasted several great opportunities tonight.

He wasted one where he should have laid it off to Shorey, but he did well other than that. He did more than Doyle (who didn't look fit) and looked lively before scoring a well-taken goal.

Lita did more in 15 minutes than Doyle did for the whole game.

Top goalscorer not bad for such a boring player.

The criticism of Bikey is ridiculous. For 75 minutes, against good forwards, he was outstanding.

He also adds much needed steel to the team.

Bikey was absolutely superb tonight and should definitely have his place back on Saturday. I'm inclined to agree with those who say he'll become even better than Sonko in years to come.

Sitting in the SU bar surrounded by supporters of every club bar our own and they were soo complementary, time after time in the second half they were saying 'you're defense are outstanding' i ssem to remember wayne rooney through on goal and would should have scored but for fine tenacity and judgement by Bikey...

Ratings

Fed 4 At fault for the first 2 goals. On this showing Marcus has nothing to worry about.
DLC 7 Always a bit suspect defending, but did some great work going forward
Bikey - 6 Was asleep for the first 6 minutes, but when we went man for man at the back he was excellent.
Ingi - 6 Did well to set up the first goal, but wasn;t comfortable with the 5 man defence at the start. As soon as we changed to 4-4-2, he looked back to his assured best
Shorey 6 Did okay, but his crossing again was woeful
Gunnarsson 9 - Best player on the pitch
Sidwell - 7 Worked hard all night
Oster - 8 Looked dangerous on both wings
Doyle - 4 - If it wasn;t for his pathetic attempt to win a penalty, woulnd't have noticed he was playing. Needs to regain match fitness
Kitson 7 - Some nice touches and in the right place at the right time to score.
Seol - 4 Woeful peformance. Did nothing all night. Only 1 decent cross from memory. Should have been subbed at half time.

Subs

Little 8 - Tore Man Utd to shreds. Should have replced the cumbersome Seol earlier
Lita 8 - Shopwed why will struggle to keep hold of him at the end of the season. Well taken goal.

Have to agree entirely with Big Ern, with the exception of Bikey, who deserves a 7 or 8.

DLC was excellent coming forward - seems to be full of confidence now.
