Please could you specify what "IT" is?

If it is a thin piece of string or even maybe a piece of spaghetti then I am quietly confident most members of the squad could cut "IT!"

If it is a piece of barbed wire then specialist equiptment (+ safety gear of course) will need to be implemented.

If you are asking them to cut the Forth Road Bridge then they may struggle although I am quietly confident John Halls would have a good go - he doesn't have much else to do!!

Even though the initial post is a bit naff, I think we'll find out next season if certain players are good enough at this level. Yes we're 7th now, but this season every game has been a cup final and you can only judge a player as Premiership standard, if he maintains that level over a number of years.

For example is Michael Ricketts a Premiership standard player ? One great year doesn't make a player.

Am I confused, or does anyone else agree that Hunt is a good player who on several occasions ruffles feathers, boosts the team and goes for every ball.

I can't understand why some people don't rate him.

Because that's all he gives. Next season will be harder and I think we need better players than Hunt to just do as well as we're doing now.

I still think he's a useful squad player by the way.

hunts been great this year, really stepped up and made that left wing place his own for a large part of the season

& what the hell do you mean very doubtful about kitson, thats not even worth answering
i think seol and oster have both proved they can "cut it"
ok they havent excelled but they have come in when needed and done very good jobs most of the time

and i dont think convey can be in that 1st list yet, not cos he aint good enough, but becuase he hasnt had a chance to prove it or not

other than that a great 7th post

Exactly - Hunt would be absolutely fantastic in a lower league, but he's never going to be an established Premiership player. Whereas, Lita, who has had some bad stick in this forum a while back, has always looked like he has the class (on the field!) to shine in the Premiership.
I also think that the jury is still out on Kitson, but I'm willing to accept that maybe he is still not match fit/sharp.
I forgot to put Murty in the Yes category, ooops!
You'll notice that Robin Friday did not appear, nor have I mentioned Elm Park.
It's 2007 and yes I do sit in Upper West so that I can actually see the game.
We have to beat Liverpool, otherwise I'm skint.

Hunt was NOT absolutely fantastic in a lower league, but he is now an established Premiership player.

Established? After less than 20 starts!

Our whole side have worked well as a team over their first season in the Premiership. The test of them being Premiership quality players would probably to be prove themselves over at least two season and even then they might not be. Sides have passengers who you just get a gut feeling aren't up to the standard they're playing at (look at Darren Fletcher as a non-Reading example) and although I'm not saying we're carrying passengers, time will tell if some of ours aren't up to it.

Hunty, you'll remember was the player that didn't give on that ball that was obviously going out at Man City recently. He not only stopped it going out, but then pulled it back for Leroy to slot home. (I know it wasn't allowed, but it WAS a goal).

Although, perhaps not the most gifted of players, he's kept many a full-back and right wing occupied this season, allowing our midfield more time. (Whether the midfield have used that time is another thing).

No, not 'Player of the Season', but a quality member of our TEAM.

Murty - Yes.
Lita - Yes. Scoring goals at the moment.
Sonko - Yes. Had Rooney in his pocket. Just needs to tighten up a few things. Does go jumping in a bit quick sometimes
Shorey - Yes. No further comment.
Little - As above
Convey - Not a very fair chance to say on a few games. Although i'd expect him to.
Hannemann - Does make some costly mistakes but his
Ingimarsson - Good positioning sense. Doesn't stand out, but he's a defender, should he?
Gunnarsson - Yes. Slow? I think you're wrong there. His stride length is long, which makes him look slow.
Sidwell - Yes.
Harper - Yes. Although has his off days.
Duberry - Had a bad match against 'Boro (who wouldn't against Viduka and Yakubu running at you) but he was a decent player in the Championship. Need more time to say.
Bikey - Good player. Next Sonko really. If he stays clear of injuries he will be a good replacement, if needed.
De La Cruz - Quick, and does his job. Not quite as good as our other full backs but, lets be honest, they are a couple of the top top draw.
Doyle - Yes.
Kitson - Just come back from injury, but is certainly looking a good premiership player. Makes the right balls, sometimes goes un noticed. Yes for now.
Seol - He's good enough, that's for sure. WHY'S HE SO GOD DAMN LAZY?!!
Oster - Would be pushing for a start at half the clubs in this league. Sadly, in front of him are two good wingers at the moment (Little and Hunt)
Long - He will produce. I believe
Bennett - Not had enough chance to prove himself. Under Steve, Dillion etc. should be capable.
Halford - As above.
Mate - Not had a chance! I haven't even seen him so i'm making no judgements. I'd give him a fair chance though.
Federici - Good keeper. Would do the job plus a bit, if Hahnemann needs to be replaced, IMO.
Hunt - Yes.

Fair do's, I take your point, but my point was that he has established himself as a valuable player in our Premiership team so far and there's no reason why he shouldn't continue.
