Next Manager for RFC

Hopefully a long way off, but two seem to be way out in front, so which one for you?

Not sure either would be on my short list right now, although no doubt both would be on the phone to JM !

Parky needs to get back in charge of a club and make a go of it, otherwise I fear his cedentials just don;t stand up.

I'm also not sure Sanchez has the background for where we are now.

Who knows who will be around / available for 4 or 5 years time. Perhaps it will be Graeme Murty or Dave Kitson taking over the reigns, or an Icelandic manager / assistant !

I wouldn't mind Parky, But would he be up to the job??

I think Sanchez would do a pretty good job IF Coppell decided to leave.

But for now .. Long Live Steve Coppell

How very dare you!

Steve Coppell hasn't even reached the peak of his superpowers yet. How can you possibly be considering his predecessor?

Shame on you !!!!

God forbid Lawrie Sanchez ever get's to manage Reading FC :o

He works reasonably well with limited resources. I really don't think he's any better than that.

Hopefully the club will continue to progress from within and give someone like Dolan the chance to manage the first team.

Coppell should stay so long that any manager in the future will be so different to what they're like now that we can't possibly speculate. Who knows who'll be a good manager in 2050?.

Pardew will return to manage Reading in the top flight as he should have done in the first.

The fact they won't even let Sanchez in the directors box when they let Pardew in says it all about what they think of Sanchez. You can't forget what a complete and utter grade A tosser he is. He's been so lucky with how the NI job has saved his reputation.

Anyway, they'll be a much higher calibre of manager applying for the job when Coppell goes and I still think promoting from within is a possibility with Dolan being the obvious candidate.

I don't know who the A.N.Other will be - will have to wait to nearer the time.

The fact that Parky was a manager then went back to being an assistant is not a good sign as far as I'm concerned, though may be I'm being a little short-sighted as it could be a clever experience-gathering career move.

Lawrie Sanchez is yet to be proven at club level. Don't get me wrong, did a great job at Wycombe, but we're at a very different level now (and hopefully will still be when Coppell eventually goes).

I'd welcome Pardew back if he wanted to join but hopefully that will be a long time off yet.

The problem with this is that there are so many variables. We might not need to replace Coppell until after Mr Mad has already sold up the club, possibly to a foreign investor. Which league will we be in when we replace the manager?

No nomination for a certain Mr K Dillon?

Learning all the time, worked with two of the best English managers currently working, and an internal appointment so would represent continuity - oh, and cheap, too!

Dillon struggled in the manager's role after Pards left. Some people - some damn good coaches - have never made a successful transition into management.
