Vital Football article on Ingi....

Well it certainly wasn't written by Mr. Partridge.

As for claiming that a player was at fault for a goal because he didn't cynically bring a player down........

I don't normally read articles on that website and now I know why.

The Writer's certainly stirred up a hornet's nest with that one which was probably his intention in the first place. Fair play to the bloke on that score then.

I wouldn't put Ivar at fault for either goal against Liverpool personally. Arguably, Shorey was to blame for both (a poor free kick for the first from which Liverpool broke and caught faffing around and out of position for the second).

As for criticising Ivar for his display against Charlton in which he was at the heart of a defensive unit which kept the home side from scoring......

IMO I'd nominate Ingi as player of the year not suggest it was time to put him out to grass.

Coming soon from same author: Why Marcus Hahnemann needs to be dropped unless he starts scoring more goals.

Never looked at that website before and never will again!

Guess this proves we all view games differently, considering alot of people have stated they think Ivar should be player of the season it goes against his comments. Personally I feel he is very underrated and being our best consistent performer during the season. We thought we'd struggle when Sonko was out, but we haven't and I think Ivar is the linchpin in that defence. Take him out and I suspect we'd struggle, I think we'll see him as first choice again for next season.

A load of rubbish IMHO. Ivar has been brilliant this season and is surely one of the main contenders for player of the season!

Coming up with stuff for these websites is a nightmare and the 'easiest' option is to write something 180 degrees away from what is obvious to most people so you appear 'insightful' and generate a reaction ( the Oliver Holt school)

I have no doubt Ivar will win the player of the year award - deservedly

At the same time I have no doubt that his place will be under threat next season becasue Coppell expects EVERY place to be fought for and we have hundreds of central defenders who want to play...

The author would do his cause some favours if he could actually spell back-pedalling.

My favourite, favourite bit is ...

And with the yet untested 23 year-old Peter Mate still in the Reading ranks, perhaps it is time for the ageing Ingimarsson to step aside…

James Wade should stick to darts, he clearly knows nothing about football.

Pointing out Ivar's faults at Charlton - that would be when we kept a clean sheet then.

Unbelieveable.

At fault for both Liverpool goals!! LOL!!!!!!!!! that was our number 3!!!!!!!

Ingi has proven himself to be one of the best defenders in the premiership this season.
The piece on Ingi just radiates complete and utter ignorance of all things RFC and quite frankly football in general.
Ingi in back peddling shocker. He probably eats live hamsters too!
Some people will do anything for a bit of attention.Twat!

thats a bit harse on shorey!!!! to say he cost us a goal for one bad free kick is harsh. everybody puts in bad balls every now and then.
and whilst he may have been caught out for the second goal, it was not completely his fault. if you watch the replay, we have a system, where if a winger cuts inside, the whole line steps up. it often catches people offside. this time BK was left standing, playing kuyt onside. so you could argue that it was BK's fault.

but this whole article is a load of rubbish. clearly got nothing better to write about so is just looking for a controversial article, looking for a response

his poor free kick, then he was the one playing them all onside

then his giving the ball away and being out of position led to the second.

for me at fault for both goals.

That's so painfully true.

Though Bryn did stop at about the 65th minute, not the 45th.

Siwdell has gone missing in plenty of games - seems Bryn may be ideal as a replacment then !
