Kitson, Doyle, Convey, Sonko and Murty had been fit all season?

Exactly, with them all fit at the start of next season it will be like 5 new signings.

We have definitely missed Sonko and Convey in particular, and Murts seems to get that back line together.

Looking forward to seeing all 3 of them back next season.

Massive time for Convey. Doesn't seem like the type to react well to expectations, only started playing well in the 2nd season when peoples expectations of him were pretty low. I worry that he won't react positively to the pressure of coming back into a side that has done so very well without him. Plus I think he'll struggle to get Hunt out the team really, Hunt is Coppell's perfect player....

We have to have a squad capable of covering for injuries.

Even missing the players mentioned we've done pretty well squad fitness wise.

The pace and intensity of the Premiership seems to have an even more wearing effect on the players than the Championship, so even if we have those players back, we will probably missing a few others here and there.

Add Little to those other 5 as well....

Could quite easily see our first game next season with a starting 11 of

Marcus

Shorey Sonks Ingi Murts

Convey Harper Bryn Little

Doyle Kitson

Reckon things would've gone much the same as they have, which is a testament to the notion that the guys called upon to step up in the absence those mentioned did just that.

Of those I would say only Little made a significant difference - all the others seemed to have deputies who coped pretty fantastically.

I think if Little had played 30 games we would have a UEFA cup place seealed by now, but would still be some way behind the 4 teams who start every season with a built in advantage over the rest.

I really hope we sign someone to play instead of Brynn. He's a good player but not good enough to be one of our regular central midfielders...

Really, why? a win against watford and if Arse and Pool had not done the double over us how close would we be?

Finishing this close to Top 4 was a laughable notion at the start of the season.

It is a prefectly reasonable question to ask. Fanciful maybe, but perfectly reasonable.

As it is, their prolonged absences have placed us in a better position to further consolidate next season as many of the "less likely to succeeds" have come in and gained hugely valuable and confidence giving experience.

The last time I checked, Liverpool and Arsenal were 13 points ahead of us and they have both had very poor domestic seasons. There was not/is not a cat in hell's chance of us challenging the top four for the foreseeable unless Bolton, Everton & Spurs go backwards and we end up with a 32 man team full of good players.

If Liverpool had fielded their reserve side (like they did in their game against Fulham) we would have beaten them with the performance we put in at the mad stad this season.

I'd like to think of myself as a bit of a realist, this thread has certainly got me chortling away.
