Hahnemann's injury

by Rawlie19 » 17 May 2007 14:01

Couldn't see this anywhere so doddy if I'm repeating.

Hahnemann has 2 plates and 16 screws inserted in his hand.

Sounds pretty serious. I hope he fully recovers, but what are the chances for him being fit for the beginning of the season?

With a bionic hand I would have thought he will be a much improved keeper.

Gotta love Marcus. As he was going off at Blackburn with what was quite a bad hand injury he suddenly realized he hadnt done his shirt donation thang. He paused and made a few steps towards the fans before realizing the timing wasnt appropriate and resumed his trudge off toward the bench. Along with others he came out at the end to complete the ritual kit chucking .
As Marcus is well into his mechanics im sure he will love the bionic hand. Get well soon Marcus yer a star.

He also applauded the fans - quite something to clap your hands together when one is broken in 3 places !

If the rumour I heard that he needs an op on his hip is true, then the 2 injuries can get fixed in parallel.

May leave him a little short for pre-season though.

New keeper, or is A Fed ready for a Premiership starting role??

I think FedEx is capable enough of starting for us while USA recovers, but if the chances are that USA won't be back then we'll need to start thinking about someone else to come in. I guess Hammer isn't as good as his Championship Manager counterpart?

As long as the stitches are out before August 11th he'll be fine.

Not as if keepers have to be fit or anything !

Funny you should say that, in the pre-match warm up, He is always slow getting up off the ground, and puts two hands on one knee and takes about 5 secs to get up. Where as Federici is jumping all over the place. Yes i know Fed is only sub and much younger, but i keep on saying to myself that Hahnemann shouldn't do such a hard warm up and save his fitness etc for the game.

Music for Marcus 'Steve Austin' Hahnemann to enter the stadium to...

"We can rebuild him... We have the technology."

Keepers need a bit of fat to cushion the impact from dives. And Kenny makes one hell of an impact so needs more padding than most.

Now there's no call for that... Paddy might be rotund but I don't yet think he's achieved a spheroid shape - and by all accounts he's quite a peaceable kind of bloke with a decent sense of humour...
