...Has scored more goals (6) at Reading (31) than he did at Cork (25), in just one extra appearance (77 at Reading).

Impressive.

Doyle scored 25 goals in 76 games for Cork.

He's got 31 in 77 for Reading.

6 more goals at Reading than at Cork having made just one more appearance for the Royals.

31-25=6

Easily explained - Eircom has better defences than Championship/Premiership.

Kevin Doyle has scored 6 more goals for us than he did for Cork city in practically the same number of appearances. It is impressive because he has done better in the Premiership and the Championship than in the comparatively low standard of the Irish Premiership.

Or, as per previous post, Irish defences snuffed him out
More seriously, you'd expect a striker to pop in more in his early 20's than in his late teens and perhaps the service was not as good in Ireland.

But whatever, top man.

If (Doyle) gets (20) I'll be stunned.

I thin(k) he'll find it harder next season, Lita will be our top scorer and Doyle will show more of his alround game than his goalscoring.

Will still be a key player for us....

I understand the numbers now, in my defence it was a pretty confusing way to describe it ! When did English go out of fashion !

It's Irish now. We're talking about Doyle, aren't we?
