Are you bored...

by poohs pure » 21 Jun 2007 09:03

...of virtually everyone you talk to jumping on the second season bandwagon?

How many times have I heard "oh you'll struggle next year blah blah oxf*rd blah"

When asked why we will struggle there is the normal dribble about Wigan and West Ham...yadda yadda, oxf*rd teams managed by big headed lazy people who thought they didn't have to work any more as they had 'arrived'.

Trust me world there will be no such arrogance from Lord Coppell of Berkshire.

Rant over, for now at least.

IN fact, Sir Steve will be turning the whole question round in his motivational skill and turning SSS into an advantage, by giving the players the challenge of proving that there is no such thing as SSS.

I'm not sure that's the most accurate description of Paul Jewell.

I think we will struggle this season compared to last year and it's completely nieve not to go into the season concerned about the squad and especially the start to the season we have. We will need new players and new ideas, as we won't have the everything is new feel good factor anymore.

As for players getting big headed, well just look at Stephen Hunt.

On a positive note Coppell will I'm sure know all this and hopefully we can enjoy another season in the Premiership without too much risk of relegation.

"It'll soon wear off"

my Boro supporting friend says you always get the goodwill from other fans for the first season or two but then the big clubs start to see you as just another average fixture.

He may be right but I think we have more character than that.
My other mate who supports Man United said we were the best away team at old trafford last season.

But surely if we didn't bother with them we would be 24 pts down straight away.

I can't possibly get bored with it. We are Premier League and it's part and parcel of life in the big league. Better this than bopping about in the Championship and hearing a few little bits about is now and again.

Agree very much with Dirk Gently. Steve Coppell will use the second season hype to pump the players up and get the best out of them!

One half decent season in the Premiership and already he's demanding more money.

Since the start of the Prem only four teams have been relegated in their second season. Not that much of a syndrome really just highlighted by wigans plight last season.

I can see Lineker and co. discussing second season syndrome on match of the day after our first few fixtures. I doubt that they will compare our results with the season just finished. So if we repeat results against Man.U/Chelsea/Everton we will have zero points.

Bearing in mind he was paid previous to this season according to his ability, don't you think he deserves a small pay rise? He wasn't asking for much, the reports seemed to agree...I remember Reading letting a player go a few years ago because he was asking for £30 a week more.

I can see Sky Sports live at Pride Park as we prepare to win the league against Derby (again)
