Team To Face Man Utd?

by andybsroyals » 02 Aug 2007 00:07

With Man Utd game next week i think the team will be

1- GK Adam Federici (Marcus still injured?)
2- RB Graeme Murty
3- LB Nicky Shorey
4- CB Ivar Ingarmarsson
5- CB Michael Duberry (Sonko still Injured)
6- LM Bobby Convey
7- CM James Harper
8- CM Brunar Gunnarsson (Sidewell Gone)
9- CF Kevin Doyle
10- CF Leroy Lita (Got to look after Kitson for first game!)
11- LM Stephen Hunt ( Seol ????)

Not much change from the first game of last season!

I think it will be:

Stack

Murty
Ingimarsson
Bikey
Shorey

Seol
Harper
Cisse/Gunnarsson
Convey

Doyle
Lita

I want it to be:

Hahnemann

Murty
Ingimarsson
Sonko
Shorey

Little
Harper
Gunnarsson
Convey

Doyle
Lita

But obviously injuries will prevent the team above from happening and yes it is the team (roughly) that got us promoted.

The Team also depends on whether or not we sign some players

Absolutely zero chance of Convey being picked to start!!!! Anyone who thinks that is mad, he's only just come back from almost a year out, and Hunt is the man with the shirt right now after he had an excellent season, Convey will have to work hard to get back in this team(i want him back in as soon as possible, but credit to hunt for the way he has performed!!)

I'll say, 4-5-1

Stack

RB - Murty
LB - Shorey
CB - Ingi
CB - Doobs

RM - Doyle
LM - Hunt
CM - Harper
CM - Gunn
CM - Cisse

CF - Lita

I think the goalie position is tight though, and also at CB to partner Ingi, those two positions could easily be Fed and Bikey next weekend instead

But SSC might spring a surprise or two, you never know!!

Think I'll wait until this time next week to think of a team as we may well have 1 or 2 new players in by then.

I dont think that will make any difference, i really cant see coppell throwing in a new player(s) at OT after only 1 weeks training/getting to know the players. Also, unless the unamed/unconfirmed/mystery signings play in the last friendly against Wolves then they would have had no pitch time with the players. I would be shocked if SSC were to do this, it just doesnt seem his way

I basically agree with you FO although I think that Bikey will start after what he did at Old Trafford last year in the cup. I really hope we sign another midfielder though - looking at the team it really makes me miss Sidwell!

Not quite sure how. Fergie has a go at his team usually equals massive improvement.

I thought we still had a striker called Kitson.
How come he hasn't featured not least because of his vastly greater defensive capabilities (often needed in away games) than either Doyle or Lita and in particular Lita?

Because he is really not as good as Doyle, Lita or Long ...
