Pundits: Jamie Redknapp

Fast becoming one of my favourites in this day and age.
Always 100% honest and fair and looks for the positives in each team.
Supported us plenty of times and especially against ruud gullit this evening.

Lots of time for him, and he's nothing like his oxf*rd dad.

Agreed, I like Redknapp. Very open and honest opinions, and from an honest pro. Huge career in the media ahead of him.

Shame he didn't get more caps for England.

I thought they were good together. A bit of disagreement is good.

I agree. I saw his segment about the start of the new season he did on Sky Sport News. No cliches or anything, just spoke the truth.

Ruud is entitled to his opinion, even though it maybe wrong!!

Jamie is a pundit I think most fans can respect, he is honest, tells it the way it is and is not blinkered by the so called big clubs. Defo on my crimbo card list!!!

I'm not sure it's any better than sitting on the fence.

It depends how sharp the fence is. :?

I have known Jamie since he was a 7 year-old winger playing U9s football.
A genuine lad with a wife who is in no way showy and because he sees the game from the point of view of both sides rather than just the big team he is worth listening to.

Happy to be the sole voice who thinks Redknapp is actually quite a shit, cliched, poorly-expressed pundit.

I suppose he'll get better.

Sadely, we think anyone who says good things about is a good pundit, and we discredit those who do not spend their time complimenting us. It just makes us just as subjective as these so called pundits.

Given that everyone is subjective, and there is no such thing as objectivity then that's not a surprise !!!!

Normally I think Redknapp is a moronic ex-pro who says nothing of any real insight.

However, today he said nice things about Reading and is therefore a god amongst men.

The one thing that irritates me about Jamie Redknapp is that he tries to monopolise the conversation and often doesn't let the other pundit get a word in (case in point with Ruud Gullit today). That said, he has vastly improved from last season when he appeared to be out of his depth at times.

I thought it was the other way round today ! Gullit seemed determined to have the last word and even restored to the pathetic 'end of' approach so beloved by the HNA posse !!

First, WHAT a strange experience watching a game of ours live on the TV!

As for Redknapp, he did say nice positive things about us, but at half-time he also said that he thought we would tire or get bored with doing the man marking job; I thought to myself "Hmmmm - he doesn't know us that well then!"

:D

To be fair though, at the end of the game he stated that he didn't think any other team would be as disciplined at doing a 90 minute man to man marking job as Reading.

Which was nice.

Actually, no. I would of liked him anyway, I just like the way he's honest and prepared to counter something if its his belief. You can tell from his body language he's passionate about what he says and he doesn't come across smarmy and cocky like a lot of others.
